I still love Savannah even though there is a lot of bad people who work here. I still love it and I still love the (yellow shirt) security guard who stole the money out of my wallet on 06-04-2019 4pm Yes it was the security guard who I asked first because she was the only one in the theater after I left. She told me and my wife we had to leave because the show was over that she had to clean up. So I walked around the corner noticed my wallet was missing walked back around the corner she was there she said no wallet was found and that department wasn't hers, so why was she in the theater then. Oh well I got my wallet back turned in by a good Samaritan moments after I confronted her some else walked my wallet down the stairs my wife just went up to ask about my wallet. Hmmm well played my friends well played... I only hope and pray that you used it for something good, like treating the staff the next morning with breakfast, or helping with a much needed bill, or feeding a sick child, or something in that nature. I hope if she (the theft) shared the money she told them the right amount it was 440.00 dollars cash. But I'm still happy most wouldn't be, but I got my wallet back, my son bought me this wallet it's got 3 crosses on it and it means more to me than most of my belongs so.. next time I come back, I'll have...
Read moreI have lived here for almost 20 years, but with Hurricane Matthew, and being HOMELESS, and a veteran, this city and the Emergency first responders were great in helping to get my family out of a contaminated area. A CEMA representative by the name of David, last name unknown, who was the CEMA rep for the Westin Hotel and International Trade and Economics Center, told me personally that there was - NO CONTAMINATION FROM ANY SPILLS AND THE ONES THAT WHERE REPORTED WERE CLEANED UP QUICKLY, however after being rescued from the Truman Parkway and having been evacuated to the Trade Center on Hutchinson Island, the first responders who came out and had there wetsuits on had to do a quick strip, this test strip, is if you are not familiar with the term, is to take a swab from the wetsuit to find out if any contaminants are in the water around the Harry S Truman Parkway, and when they finished with the strip they found that the entire area was completely and extremely contaminated with raw sewage and chemicals in the water making the area...
Read moreRV parking in cities can be a nightmare. Luckily, good ol’ southern hospitality and charm in Savannah means they thought of us RVers! The Visitors Center allows RV parking up to 48 hours in their lot. One spot is $8.00/24hrs and $14.00/48hrs. We in our 33’ fifth wheel couldn’t fit in their wider, longer RV spots, so we took up 2 regular spots, so paid $16.00 for an overnight. Can't beat the location and price at any campground! Word of advice: If you are big get there as early as you can! We fortunately got there around 9AM when the lot was practically empty. By noon it was completely full. We couldn’t have gotten in (or out, for that matter!) if we wanted to. We got going by 9AM the next day too so we wouldn’t get blocked in. Smaller RVs probably are a bit more flexible, and quite a few came and went throughout the day. Also, the lot was well-lit and we saw a security car pass by from time to time in the night. Tour trolleys leave right from the parking lot. The free "dot" trolley picks up right next to the...
