Last Friday the Cultural Arts Center held a showcase for the dance classes of the past 8 weeks. My daughter was supposed to participate, but changed her mind after seeing the full dress rehearsal. Several performances were well done, she said, but others were in "poor taste" (think strip club). The age limit was 15 and this was supposed to be a family friendly venue...

The last act consisted of ballarinas in pink tutus dancing to the music from "Pink Pony Club" with party poppers. Audience members were expected to sing along. Here are some of the lyrics:

God, what have you done You’re a pink pony girl And you dance at the club Oh mama, I’m just having fun On the stage in my heels It’s where I belong down at the

Pink Pony Club I’m gonna keep on dancing at the Pink Pony Club I’m gonna keep on dancing down in West Hollywood I’m gonna keep on dancing at the Pink Pony Club, Pink Pony Club

As an Autist, loud noises, especially in enclosed spaces, is painful. If other audience members were veterans, they could have had a PTSD response. I don't know who thought this was a good idea, but obviously the Cultural Arts Center needs to have their funding cut. Those funds would be better used for the one and only Domestic Violence Center in Chatham Co. who held a candle light vigil Oct. 2nd at Forsythe Park to read the names of those who died due to DV across our state during...

This is a seriously underrated resource for Savannah adults and families. We have attended four different workshops in about a year. I’m so impressed by the quality of instruction and the creativity that goes into the sessions for littles. It is way better than our experience in much, much more expensive music and dance studios around the city. Instructor Kristin is just fantastic!

The facility is immaculate and is very secure. There is always plenty of parking in a kind of sneaky roadway too. I only wish they offered more times so we could attend...

This is one of my favorite spaces in town, perfect for the community to come watch and attend and also offer classes, workshops, performances and connect with one another.

Not only is the technology of the space state of the art, but the staff who work there are friendly, helpful and dedicated to helping make all visits enjoyable.

Check out their events and classes on their website...

All I can say is that I wish we had a venue like this in Myrtle Beach! The art classes that they offer to children and adults are very good! And if you're not a student at Savannah College of Art and Design, you'll feel the "vibe" there! There's great exhibits and plays to check out also!

We do art here! The staff is amazing and they have an abundance of classes to choose from! I also love to visit the art gallery.
