This has to be the WORST Embassy Suites we have ever stayed at, and we have stayed at quite a few across the country.
Pros: Check in was easy; plenty of parking; the lobby was very nice. (these are the reasons for the 1 star)
Cons: The rooms are old. Our room, 515, had paint coming off the walls, layers of dust on the door frames and lamps, hair and bobby pins from the previous guest on the bathroom floor.
The floor in the rooms, carpet and fake wood, are extremely dirty. My little guy was walking and his feet turned black. That's so gross.
The lobby was nice, it was nicely air conditioned. However, the A/C in the halls on the floors and in the rooms doesn't work. I thought they turned on the heat in the hallways! Our room was set to 64 and it never got down past 73.
When I checked in, they asked me if I wanted housekeeping; due to covid, they were only housekeeping rooms that requested the same. The next day comes and no housekeeping. We called down to the desk at 3:30pm, we aren't told no housekeeping, just that they will send someone up. At 5:20pm, we went to the front desk, and again, we weren't told no housekeeping, just that they will send someone. At 7:00pm, I called down to the front desk again; again I wasn't told no housekeeping. At 7:45pm, we still haven't received anything. I called down to the front desk, and I'm told there is no housekeeping, they just get us towels and give us trash bags. She is sending someone. No one comes and my kids need to take baths before bed. My husband goes down and then suddenly we have someone bring towels up. We are told that someone came but we weren't in the room and housekeeping isn't going into the rooms
The breakfast is absolutely awful (The buffet part, we didn't use the made to order station). My son eats ANYTHING and he wouldn't eat the food because it was gross. No flavor for the eggs or potatoes; the oatmeal was dry; the french toast sticks were hard and flavorless. Seriously Walmart frozen section has better french toast sticks.
When checking in, I'm told about the complementary happy hour with 2 drinks and snacks - there are no snacks. We looked at the menu and it is not a menu for families of small children.
I'm a Hilton Honors member, and am supposed to receive two bottles of water upon check in. I didn't receive it, but when I went to check out I noticed they were giving them to others.
Lastly, we were flipping through TV stations, and some you have to pay for (fine). but I didn't realize I had to pay for the...
Read moreThis was the leasrt impressive Embassy Suites I have ever stayed in. Check-in service was mediocre, never received complimentary snack bags with water and customer service was below average. Next day i asked for the complimentary waters (Gold Member) and was told that i could not get any apart from the original bag i "received" When i told her i never received any upon check-in she just turned, left to the back room and gave me a bag. No apologies for the assumption or the fact i never received one at check-in, just attitude. Room was fine, nothing wrong with it. Breakfast one the first day was good. The chef was in tune and friendly, crankling out good foor and the cleaning / delivery service to the tables was on point. Next day it was like night and day. Chef clearly was trying to dissuade people from ordering by saying it would take 45 mins for the pancakes, 35 mins for omeletes, and there was only 3 tickets ahead of us (food took less than that to arrive). They were out of multiple ingredients, tables were not clean, breakfast potatoes were stale, food didnt get brought out to replenish new ones in time. It was very disorganized and a disappointment. Complimentary evening reception / service was the worst i have experienced. Poor girl in the bar was there by herself, no assitance. Line almost to the door. She was scramlbing to get the drinks out, which made them sloppy, but not really her fault. The evening snacks... what a joke. A bag of penuts? Really? You can't even blame COVID because at breakfast everybody is everywhere without a mask and serving themselves. So, with that no longer being a valid excuse, I'm not sure what happened here. It's ironic because the poster in the elevator shows some nice Hummus and Pita as snaks, clearly not the case. I stayed at the Homewood Suites in March of this year and it was clearly a significant better service and value. Self serve beer and wine, amazing hot evening reception (almost didnt need dinner) and even better breakfast. I've previously stayed at the Embassy Suites by the airport in Savannah, also better service and food. Given the reputation, location, and price i just expected better. Needless to say, i will not be staying in this...
Read moreRead moreWhere do I begin;) It was truly a rainy day in Georgia. Arriving at Embassy Suites and walking in, you can tell this place is special. You are greeted by a clean and grand entrance way. Each area is organized and separated in such a manner that provides comfort, convenience, and privacy. Of course, that's what I noticed before we were greeted...lol. We were fortunate to happen upon happy hour...excellent drinks. My go-to is the Long Island Tea. Excellent bartender. Tip well;) The young lady, along with her crew, do an extraordinary job, and the finger food is good too; cherry tomatoes, bread, various dipping sauces, and meats. The rooms speak for themselves: clean, comfortable, welcoming, and classical. The pictures tell the tell. Breakfast time! Your selection: cooked to order eggs, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, biscuits, toast, pineapple, grapes, oranges, gravy, bacon, grits, cereal, oatmeal, sausages, milk, potatoes, juices: apple, cranberry, apple, and this is what I can remember. Quality and selection. You can taste it and see it as soon as you sit down. Upon checkout time, you can even leave your vehicle in the parking deck to tour downtown Savannah for a while: more convenience and value. It's covered, cleaned, and well lit. Truly, the staff at Embassy Suites takes much pride in their work, and it shows in our wonderful experience. Your stay at Embassy Suites and Savannah truly go great together. September 2023 The Embassy Suites is still a great hotel. There are a few changes I discovered this past weekend. There is a computerized ordering process for your build a breakfast. The touch screen allows for customization of the omelet, such as yellow or white, sunny side ups, and pancakes. Even with more than 15 people in line, the restaurant staff was able to get the orders perfectly. Lastly, room service as it relates to additional linens, for example, has changed. The rooms will be serviced if requested before 12 noon, not every day automatically. Otherwise, you will need to contact the front desk and retrieve, for example, extra pillows, blankets, and coffee. I wondered 🤔 how this would work but actually reduced foot traffic and noise in the morning. Better sleep in the...
