Ya know how some days are just not worth setting the alarm for and getting up much earlier than normal? This was NOT that day. Andrew put so many extras into our outing starting with the mapping system. He took the time to find out what our interests were other than using a side by side and put pins in the spots that would be of interest to us. He helped us prioritize our day so we could see as much as possible on our outing, including some lesser known spots.
They made sure we had what we needed to keep our lunch and beverages cold making sure to show us exactly how to tie our cooler bag down.
As the end of our day approached, we had one last trail we wanted to get in and were unsure of the time line. We called and he said to go ahead and do that last trail and it was OK if we were not 100% on time with our return. WOW! Was that last one spectacular! It had top notch views and challenging fun terrain.
And last, but not least, they greeted us with a big smile asking how our day went and were genuinely interested into hear how it went. They took our gear and blew the dust of the trails off so we did not have to track it home and worry about it getting into our cameras. He even took the time to blow our shoes off. Now this was mind blowing to me. I keep my shoes on all day due to major foot and ankle issues. This unusual act of customer service was so kind. In my mind, that was a very Christ lie act of service and one he did not have to do. My shoes and my RV thank you for this!
And one more added bonus. This is a small local owned company by people who are born and raised in Sedona. Supporting the businesses who support the community is the way to go in my opinion. From the time you walk in the door until you leave, you will know that you are a person who is valued and appreciated, not just another dollar in the bank account. And speaking of bank accounts, I would have expected to pay more than I did for the experience I had. No price gouging here.
We will most definitely be return customers when we are back in the area next winter. We are hoping to bring some more business his way by inviting my parents, and hoping to do it with our adult children when they come to visit as well.
In closing of my rave, if I had to pick one word to describe our day and experience with Sedona CanAm ATV rentals and Andrew and his crew, that word would be EPIC! So if you want your ATV outing to be an EPIC experience, do give them a call. I know you will not be...
Read moreSo the overall experience was great. Everyone was friendly, check in and out were both quick and easy. Units were pulled up ready to go with cold water(no ice, outside temp was 55*). No hidden price really besides the offering of tire insurance. Never was given any offer to insure the unit from damage. Just the $2k damage deposit each unit. 4 hr rentals and honestly 4hrs is plenty of time to hit most the important trails. 8hr rental I cant recommend(see below)
We checked it 2 CanAm 2 seater Maverick X3 DS Turbo units.
So let's talk about why it's a 3 star review. A. Tire insurance is a cop out. You could get a unit with new tires or a unit with horribly worn tires. We had 1 unit with pretty good newer tires and one where the rear tires were nearly worn smooth in the middle. This means the tires are overpressured likely to protect the wheels from damage on rocks. Not a huge deal, but added to issue B.
B. The suspension was crazy rough. I'm a 31yo guy who loves SxS's and offroading. I dirt bike, snowmobile, ect. I'm used to offroading. This ride quality was absolutely terrible. I verified shocks were set to softest well. Both units exhibited this poor ride quality behavior. I would never recommend anyone over like 45yo get in one of their units for this reason. You will be sore by hours 4. 8 hour renters I pray for them. I've rented plenty of SxS's by not and by far this was a horrible experience due to ride quality.
C. They give you the gray key not the proper green key. This isn't disclosed anywhere. It heavily limits the power curve and limits to like 45mph. I understand limiting mph due to the rocky nature of their area. However the severe lack of power was a big bummer. Something to note and ask in my future renting from places I suppose.
All in all I wouldn't rent here again for the core issues listed above. But if those issues were remedied I'd love this place. Like I said everything else about...
Read moreWow, absolutely fantastic experience end-to-end. We booked our excursion (4-hour, 4 person Maverick X3) on Sunday night, for Monday AM with zero issues. We arrived a bit early on Monday AM, and after quickly signing the paperwork, an in depth walk-through of the UTV, the trails, and the needed safety discussion, we were on our way.
The gentleman working the front desk recommended that we first head out to Devil's Bridge, and drive the OHV trail to the parking lot, saving us 6 miles round-trip walking...a huge win in my book. After parking, we were advised it would be a leisurely 1 mile round trip hike...it may have been 1 mile, but was not leisurely. Be prepared. It's mild to start, but gets into some fun stairs near the end. it's 100% worth it though, just be prepared for it.
After finishing the hike, we returned to the vehicle, and went back to the main road. We then headed toward Outlaw, which was amazing! A fun mix of tight, rocky, bumpy trail rides, and wide open sand and gravel speed runs. Cannot recommend enough.
Between these two rides, 4 hours went fast. We returned the vehicle, and after a detailed inspection, we were done! We would 100% do this again, with Sedona Slingshots. Their customer service, their vehicles, and the way their handle their business, is top notch.
Pros: Newer Vehicles Helmets and goggles are available (we availed ourselves) An app can be downloaded to use with GPS while on the trails, but also a laminated map is provided A cooler is provided, loaded with ice and bottled water Signing in, and returning the vehicle were a breeze
Cons: Honestly, cannot think of one.
Highly recommended to anyone, and we will 100%...
