Security ran me out before I could shop and almost pepper sprayed me for asking why?!
I did get there a half hour before the stores opened but went inside to get out of the rain and try and use the bathroom before looking for gifts for the kids. Bathrooms were closed on all floors so I looked outside the windows until I decided to walk around the mall. There were at least a couple dozen other people waiting for stores to open. I Passed security on the way to the second floor. They came down and asked me what I was doing. I told them I tried using the bathroom. They told me to use Starbucks down the street. Then asked where I was shopping. I told the Nike cause I planned on stopping there too and didnāt know any of the kid stores in the mall for my kids.
This is when they told me to wait outside. I asked why. They changed their tone and said I need go now. I walked downstairs to the entrance where others were standing around and asked them if theyād been asked to leave. Security began yelling from the second floor at me to get outside. I went outside to wait out front. After a few minutes they came outside and asked what I was doing.
Surprised at the question I said you two told me to wait outside. They told me to go to the bathroom at Starbucks. I said I would just wait until the mall opens since Iāll be shopping there. I asked why they only made me wait outside and they replied they deal with one person at a time and due to Inslees rules they had to ask me to leave. I told them I didnāt believe that was part of the rules. Also multiple are walking into the mall right past us to go wait inside.
After I questioned them they said I wasnāt allowed in the mall today and to come back tomorrow and the male pulled his pepper spray and started shaking it. I tried de escalating it saying I know their job has probably been hard lately and that I too worked in public service and explained that although I didnāt know the store name I planned on Christmas shopping at I was going to shop. The female said to leave or Iāll be arrested for trespassing but I could shop at the other end of the mall at Nike?
I asked one last time why? All they would say is because I didnāt listen to the female when she told me to go to Starbucks and I couldnāt tell them what stores I was going to. Then the male started shaking the pepper spray and stepping toward me so I said fine Iāll leave.
I had a mask on the entire time, I went outside to wait, and all I wanted was the real reason I was being asked to leave. I literally bought about $800 with of stuff from stores in that mall 2 weeks ago. I am 100% returning all of it. Iām sorry for the struggling stores but I wonāt ever go back.
I understand security might have the right to kick people off the property and thatās why I left but I literally wasnāt doing anything that everyone else inside was doing, just waiting...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePretty sure I will never go to the mall again after today, but I need to give a shout outs to Colton! He is a shift lead for public safety in the mall. I ordered a cake for my dad's birthday from Ben &Jerry's and when I went to get it I parked in the garage and left dad (and my keys in the car) after grabbing the cake I headed back to the garage. I thought I was on the blue level because the signs were in blue. However I was NOT! So I started walking the whole garage (minus the basement level) 4 and a half times from top to bottom. I called my daughter because I was starting to have a panic attack. It didn't even look like the garage I parked in. While on the phone (full blown panic attack mode) I walked past a man who was walking to his truck (Colton) he heard me talking to my daughter and realized that I was lost and he called out to me and let me know that he actually works at the mall and told me where to go inside and that he would call his supervisor to come help me find my car. I went to where he directed me and 2 gentleman met me there and now I can't remember the name of the gentleman who drove me around in a golf cart to find my car. Come to find out I was parked in the basement and there's a whole other way to get there But I really hope that Colton sees this so he knows just how much I really appreciate him listening and offering help. I'd probably still be looking for my car š My husband is also very appreciative for his help God bless you and your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go here with my wife every holiday season. The place is a visual joy to be sure, with kids lined up to sit on Santa's lap, a Christmas tree that's exceedingly tall and perfectly shaped, (probably fake) and nice variety of Christmas music.
There are several interesting places to eat (both restaurants and a food court), an AMC theater on the upper levels of the mall, (people afraid of heights beware, the escalators can be dizzying) which screens include, standard, 3D and an IMAX screen, as well as some of the best theater seats I've sat in around here (they actually recline). If theaters aren't your thing, there is of course your variety of standard mall-style window shopping to keep you busy for a few hours (the window shopping is mostly non-holiday wears). Apart from the shopping, eating and theater, there is also some nice views of the river for walking.
The prices here are abysmally high, on just about everything, but I think most people expect that at a mall, still yet, this places seems to be the highest priced mall in town.
Parking is your standard, moderately cramped and confusing parking garage, complete with both stairs and elevators. At the time of writing this, parking will run you a dollar for every two hours, or just a flat three dollars after five PM, this is in fact the only mall in town, where you have to pay for parking.
All things considered, we always enjoy ourselves here and will be back for each holiday...
