Nice beach with vehicle access. It's easy to see how Long Beach got it's name. It's actually not the world's longest beach, despite the claim. That said, it's still a cool beach and worth the visit if you're in the area.
If you opt to drive onto the beach, be careful in a 2WD vehicle. I have seen people get stuck before. If you do opt to drive on the beach: AWD/4WD is preferable. Do not use your brakes to stop, as this can cause you to dig into the sand. Go slow and let off the accelerator to slow down. Consider airing down your tires to 18-20psi, if you have beadlock wheels you can go below 10psi. This will help with traction. DO NOT air down if you don't have a compressor to air back up once you get back on pavement. Consider bringing a shovel to help dig yourself out if you get stuck. At the very least an entrenching tool, though a long handle shovel is preferred. If you get stuck, read the owners manual to learn how to turn off ALL traction control. Otherwise, you'll have a hard time getting out. Make sure to go slow when you drive and keep an eye out for people.
If you aren't comfortable driving on it, this beach is a great place to take a walk and the...
Read moreLoved it. Another place to discover right on the discovery trail. The Boardwalk is a nice added touch to the park. Easy access for driving out on the sand. I was impressed by how well ke or the are a was including the public restrooms. Seemed like it would be a great place to gather for a picnic for any size group relatively speaking. The park provides barbeques and seating ready for a variety of those unexpected weather elements. Dog friendly, handicap accessible, and a great place good for all ages and physical abilities. I hope it continues to live up to all it has to offer for years to come because I will be...
