My son and I travelled from Pittsburgh, PA determined to drive on the old Route 66 on our way to Sedona and the Grand Canyon South Rim. We stopped at many shops along the way but none of them come even close to the charm and quality of the Route 66 Museum And Gift Shop. Dayle was wonderful and kind, and very helpful. Michael, the owner, and his wife, were also very kind and spent a good deal of time with us discussing the history of the area and many of the historically authentic and unique items on display both inside of the shop and outside on the shop's property. Michael is a walking encyclopedia and a gentleman on top of that! The shop is full of one-of-a kind authentic pieces of history and great (and unique) gifts that you won't find anywhere else on Route 66. You must stop and see for yourself. Williams is a beautiful town and this shop and the wonderful people that put this shop together made our trip there very special and memorable There is no such place on the Route 66 journey that we took that comes anywhere near the brilliance of this shop and the team that put it together. If you want to see some real history . . . and shop for some fine/unique/quality gifts . . . you must visit the Route 66 Museum And Gift Shop . . . and you will...
Read moreWe happened upon the Route 66 museum and gift shop by accident. We stopped in on 3/25 & Julie was awesome. After we checked out of our hotel we had a little extra time in Williams. I gave my son the choice of going to a special restaurant, the train station gift shop, or back to Route 66. He wanted to go back here, and I’m so glad we did. We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mike & Stephanie the owners. Mike shared some awesome facts about the memorabilia in the museum. My son has an absolute love for rocks and will probably become a geologist someday. I believe mike shares the same love for rocks as my son because he shared some cool facts with him, and even threw in a couple of special rocks because we visited on my sons birthday. This place by far has the best prices, and didn’t feel like a tourist trap one bit. If you are in Williams for the Grand Canyon you gotta make time to...
Read moreAMAZING ROCKS!
In our trip to Williams in July, 2022, we were surprised and delighted and when we visited this shop.
We enjoyed the free outdoor display of antique automobiles, horse-drawn carts, and gas and oil memorabilia, but when we wandered inside, in addition to a nice selection of souvenirs, there was a dazzling display of geodes, and beautiful high-quality stones and handcrafted Native American jewelry!
The proprietors, Mike and Stephanie are warm, helpful, and knowledgeable. In addition to his enthusiastic interest in rocks, minerals, and gems, Mike has gemology certifications from GIA (Gemology Institute of America) and is willing to enthusiastically share his detailed knowledge.
This would be a great place to take the kids to learn some history of transportation and particularly if they have an interest in rocks and minerals!
We highly recommend that you stop by and...
