I got a call the night before our stay to confirm the need for a mobility accessible room with a roll on shower. I was very impressed with the gentleman on the phone. We arrived and the front desk girl was friendly. Got to the room and definitely not a wheelchair friendly room as well we only one handicap parking spot. I which was already taken. (I am amputee). I did mention the problem with the shower and the front desk girl said she would let the gm know. There was only one light switch that was lowered. Very tight and I banged into everything with my wheelchair. The AC was cold when it worked, but had to tuck the drapes on the windowsill to get the air to blow into the room. Closet was unusable since the hangers can't be removed and the rail was up high. Room was clean, however conditioner was used prior to us being in the room. Good size fridge, coffee maker (unplugged so pay attention of you are looking to use it), small microwave, tv, dresser and a small table with 2 chairs in a double queen bed. Couldn't maneuver to get to things. Bring a power strip. Very few plugs and most unavailable due to being in the wheelchair. You could hear the train some, but not bad. Worst was the noise of other patrons and the water. Loud banging noise every time we used it and the water would turn on, on its own. When I mentioned the problem with parking to the front desk she could have cared less. I even suggested a simple, cost effective solution. But hey why would they care about the disabled, it doesn't affect them. Oh breakfast was decent. We showed up towards the end so I am sure some was picked through. A big positive was they had GF waffle mix, and still cross contamination but more than I have seen other places do. Fruit, bagels, English muffins, muffins, yogurt, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, tea, apples, milk, cereal, etc. Great selection. Overall not a bad stay, but definitely would think twice especially for the money. Especially if are in...
Read moreThree of us stayed here for 5 days from 7/7/24 to 7/12/24. Pros: The staff were all helpful and friendly. The location is very good. Room was a good size and plenty of outlets to charge phones Lots of cable channels to choose from Plenty of parking Price was very good Safe
Cons: Room was clean, but could use a deep clean. There was an old chocolate bar under the bed skirt at the edge of the bed. It was gross and definitely not ours. The bed skirts were dirty.
The bathroom door was annoying. Way too big for that small bathroom. If a remodel is done, there definitely should be a sliding door installed.
The pool was very murky and almost too green the first few days of our stay. The last 3 days it was more clear. The pool is advertised as heated, it WAS NOT heated. It was cold. I couldn’t even get in. I think pool was murky due to too much chlorine.
The key cards did not want to work. It took quite a few times entering the card and wiggling it to get it to work. Frustrating at times.
Old hotel, it needs an update but it’s not that bad yet.
Overall, I would recommend this Comfort inn to a friend but I would mention all the pros and cons first. The price and value was a pro for us. Free parking, breakfast included, tons of cable channels, and location for the price we paid Is hard to come by. To make it a little better, look into my cons and make a few changes. Also breakfast was decent but move the tables a little further away from each other. We opted to sit in the coffee room because everyone is on top of each other. Maybe offer bacon every other day to change it up a bit.
Not a bad place to stay. Staff...
Read moreWhen I began planning our trip to the Grand Canyon, I considered a couple options. I wanted to capture some photos of the canyon at sunset, and then returning the next day; beginning at El Tovar and ending at the Desert View Watchtower. Although the hotels in Grand Canyon village were more convenient, they were most certainly more expensive. The biggest drawback to staying in Williams is the drive to and from the south entrance to the park... roughly 60 miles each way. Were I to make this trip again, I would certainly consider the Comfort Inn. The hotel is situated at the west end of Williams, and with the exception of the occasional train whistle, it is a quiet location. The property is clean and well maintained. The whirlpool was very relaxing after a long day of driving. Breakfast the next morning was more than adequate, although the dining area was a bit over-crowded due to the number of tables/chairs in the facility. The staff did a great job keeping the warming trays and pastry/bread bins fully stocked. The only drawback was the coffee & hot water dispenser was inoperative - however, there was another dispenser available across the hall from the breakfast room. Checkout was easy and pleasant. I felt the rate could/should have been a bit lower considering we stayed prior to Memorial Day. However, if you're looking for a clean, well maintained & reasonably affordable option in Williams, stay at the...
