I think we overpaid our stay. We were greeted by a very nice lady in a cool cartoon tshirt. She was very responsive and polite. No upgrades available even tho their parking lot was empty. They have an EV charging on site and pet friendly rooms (probably the ground floor ones, they were very worn out). Our room was on the ground floor so we could hear people walking above our heads late night. Shower door was holding together by some kind of will. It looked like it is going to fall apart soon. The headboards need replacing there were very warn out, literally material coming off. TV had one channel, we couldn’t figure out how that works, didn’t matter what we pressed, nothing worked. It wasn’t a big deal since we didn’t come to watch TV, but would be nice if it provided what website promised. Carpets were yuck. Not just in the room, everywhere. The jacuzzi water was not pleasant, my kid called it ‘people soup’, that water needs treatment. Breakfast was ok, you get sausages, omelette or scrambled eggs, gravy, biscuits, some apples, or oranges, waffles, bread, cereals, yogurt, coffee, “juice”. No vegetables. There’s no restaurant on site. We didn’t use microwave in the room or coffee maker. I would say the hotel looks better from outside. It’s about 15 mins walk or 4 minutes drive to Historic Route 66, depends where you’re going.

My family always travel and whenever we go places, either in the US or Asia, our preferred place to stay must be an IHG affiliated hotel as not one IHG hotel has let us down. HOWEVER, Holiday Inn Express in Williams change this perception. Here’s the breakdown of our experience: Customer service: The staff that check us in is lacking in customer service skills and comes up rude and condescending. General observation/ Staff behavior: You can hear staff that are gathered in the lobby expressing unfavorable words regarding their workplace. This is during the breakfast buffet where guests are around. Cleanliness: When we got our room, we noticed, although not sure what it is, a “snot” like discharge in the one of the beds. Please see attached photos for reference. Parking: There are many available spots to park and 2 EV charging stations at the back of the building Breakfast buffet: We genuinely enjoyed the breakfast and the food selections are actually good. Overall: We are greatly disappointed and most likely will not go back to this IHG hotel. If you have your own vehicle we highly suggest to just drive to Flagstaff as it’s only 30 mins away from Williams. In addition, the IHG hotel in Flagstaff is far more superior with excellent customer service. We DO NOT recommend you staying in this IHG hotel.

Arrived at the hotel in the later evening, staff was friendly and commented about my status several times (which is very rare it seems, but also I don’t care about it…) Hotel hallway to room had an off smell, and then the room smelled a bit off. The TV was smaller, but fine. The room itself appeared fine at first. The longer I had there, the more issues I saw. For example, they are using newspapers to level the dresser… Weird. The cuck chair also had a pretty obvious stain to it which was disappointing. The hotel fitness center was better than most, and they kept the door open to allow more air flow I assume. The TV on the elliptical didn’t work, but that doesn’t matter to me very much as I bring a tablet. The ethernet port worked in the hotel room which was nice, speeds were adequate for a hotel. There was a $30 utility fee on the bill which was rather surprising. That is nearly half the cost of the room itself during my off peak visit. This was a work trip so it doesn’t affect me much, but if it was a personal trip and I picked this hotel over others to save money I would have been pretty disappointed about that.

Treated my family to a weekend in Williams for a trip on the Polar Express! We had two rooms. This hotel is lovely! Brand new, clean, modern, comfortable rooms. I was greeted as a club member upon check-in and appreciated the recognition. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and the heater worked almost too well. Rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. They have cable TV which provided family channels such as Disney Junior and Hallmark. Note there are only showers and no bathtubs. Rooms and hotel are clean, clean, clean.

The daily breakfast was amazing! From the egg omelets and sausage, to having fresh pancakes at the push of a button. Hot cinnamon rolls, fruits, cereal, yogurts, bagels, and fresh hot coffee. Kudos to the kitchen staff for keeping all items replenished with a smile. They even gave us a 5 min warning so we could get what we wanted before they closed. We also appreciated that on weekends they extend the breakfast hours to 10am. The hotel location is in close proximity to the Grand Canyon Railway (drive time 2 min), but I wouldn’t recommend walking it in the snow or cold weather. There is a Safeway, Dollar General, and Circle K close by on Route 66. There are many restaurants in Downtown Williams on Historic Route 66.

We woke up the next day to a snow covered Winter Wonderland. The hotel provided windshield scrapers and brushes for our convenience. Unfortunately, there was one staff member who kept scolding the kids if they tracked snow in and was mumbling under her breath complaining while she mopped up the wet floor. There was an injury incident with my grandson that we addressed with this staff member, however, they only responded by defending themselves and then promptly posting signs for us to watch our children; that they were not responsible for injuries. This issue will be addressed separately with the corporate office, but we will not let this one “bad apple” staff member mar our rating of this hotel. All other staff were very courteous, cordial and had a great attitude.

We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family. Merry Christmas to the Holiday Inn Express Staff...

We stayed here as a base hotel for driving to Grand Canyon/Petrified Forest/Red Rock/Sedona. Parking is free. They have luggage carts by the front doors to use to bring in all your luggage to your room. For COVID, there are only signs that say they require guests without vaccinations to wear masks. However, they do not ask for vaccination documentation. So, most guest and hotel workers are not wearing masks.

We got there before our check in time and the front desk clerk checked to see if our room was ready. Pleasantly it was ready and we could check in (and she apologized that the housekeeper carts were still in the hallway..which were we fine with). Our room was clean. You can tell that the bathrooms were remodeled (although it was a bit odd that they kept the old shower soap dish... they do supply those refillable shampoo, conditioner, shower gel bottles). There's a coffee maker, microwave and small fridge. They have DirecTV cable. The hotel has a fitness room and swimming pool. The swimming pool with jacuzzi was a plus... the kids loved it. The jacuzzi looks like its dirty (...but we weren't sure if it looks like that because the blue paint was coming off).

Another plus was that the free breakfast had buffet style hot and cold options. Hot options - eggs, omelets, sausage links and sausage patties. (I wish there was bacon..but sadly that was never an option). They had a cool pancake maker that makes fresh pancakes. Kids loved watching it being made. They also had muffins, fruits (banana, orange, apples), cereal, oatmeal, bread, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs milk. They had decaf and regular coffee (although my husband said the coffee wasn't filtered well; I wish there was tea and hot cocoa offered but they didnt have it). They also had juice dispenser (apple and cranberry).

I'd definitely recommend. The hotel is also close to the Grand Canyon Brewing Restaurant and historic Williams (which is very cute to check out and their...

We booked a suite on the IHG app. At first it appeared to be a newer hotel with updated rooms. After check in, I went to the first room and the pull out sofa was ripped up. I went down to the front desk and told them the issue and asked if they had another suite available. I was told that all of their pull out beds had issues and were on backorder and that a rough group of guests had caused issues with them. We went to our new suite and pulled out the bed and there was a huge diarrhea stain on the mattress. At this point, I let front desk know and that we should only be charged for a two queen beds because we can’t sleep on that. Then after 20 minutes in bed my family all pops up and is itchy. I had bites on my legs and quickly realized the beds had bed bugs! We all put on our clothes so we wouldn’t be bit anymore. I even found live crawling bugs on the sheets. We checked out early. I told the morning crew the issues and they said they couldn’t do much because the GM wasn’t on duty. They tried to call the GM but she did not answer. It was Saturday morning and I was told she didn’t work weekends which I thought was extremely strange since she works in hospitality. Never heard of not having a manager on duty for a weekend. The poor front desk guys were scared to even give me the rate for a queen room because the GM would yell at them. All the front desk workers were nice but they had zero ability to make things right and all seemed scared of the GM. Honestly, this Holiday Inn Express hurt the brand’s name. I no longer think of Holiday Inns as clean. I had to keep all my laundry suitcases, etc in the garage until I could launder and spray everything down so I wouldn’t get bed bugs at home. These damaged suites should not be reserved if the pull outs don't work, are stained or ripped. I stay at a lot of Holiday Inn Express locations and I will think twice from now on....
