My husband and I came here to stay 2 nights and relax. We knew prices were not bad for the location and was not expecting too much. But when we arrived, we were surprised as soon as we got our room. Room was really small, which was still ok considering we are staying temporary for 2 nights . But it was very HOT and there was no AC ( broken ) which was unexpected and not ok. We were concerned and went back down with our luggage. The front desk said tech guy was away so they could only offer us a portable fan. We looked very unhappy so they finally offer us a 60 dollar discount and my husband requested that we get the parking pass downstairs for free too. We got back to our room thinking we will slove the heat problem with the fan and make our own version of AC. This is first time we had to work to solve a problem going into a hotel intended to rest and enjoy. Later in the evening after dinner we needed water and Ice. We called front desk with phone and no one picked up. Eventually they did call ba ck and told us where the water was. Ice was no problem . Getting water was a huge problem. Water fountain was placed in an small area of the hotel lobby where it was very very strong smell of pee ! 😳. I was beyond shocked since it was indoor hotel area and not outside . Plus it was a very old lingering strong pee smell that was unacceptable. So sorry but this is not ok. People pay for hotel, it's not a hobo hole. Going back to our room to shower. The shower tub was full of sand !! We had to rinse off the sand and still scared to go in the shower bare foot. We wore our flip flops to shower like a public shower. And it was a hotel room shower?! Uh oh...not ok friend. Carpets were stained, walls are dirty. Sheet and bedding were ok but we still had to worry that it may not be really clean and decided to sleep on top of it instead of sleeping normally under the blankets. We used our jackets for cover. Normally we would not question if bedding is clean or not in a hotel. It obviously should be but in this case, I wasn't confident anymore. Outside of hotel walls were dirty and lights flashed and we saw light show because of the multiple lights flashing. Even the light by the hotel sign at the door was flashing right beside Harrison Lake Hotel. People first impressions are right when they look at front of hotel entrance. Hotel manager needs to be smarter than this if they want customers. I would pray for someone to please fix the place and look at reviews and feedback. Have a team meeting, give it some love and care. People deserve a hotel room where they can rest and not worry. That's why we go on vacations in the first place. Guest can't slove the issues, it's not our job. It had to be management and staff there to put effort to build up this place and serve the community by making the hotel at least a clean welcoming place for traveller.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience a low-budget horror film in real life, Harrison Lake Hotel has you covered. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we knew we were in for a unique stay. Stained floors, a dimly lit lobby, and a pair of lone massage chairs greeted us to the left. Nothing says “welcome” like an eerie waiting area that feels like it’s straight out of a ghost story. Finding parking was a scavenger hunt of its own. Armed with a blurry, poorly printed map that looked like it had been photocopied since the 90s, we navigated through a maze of minimal signage and a lot of confusion. The elevator? Picture Tower of Terror but without the Disney budget. As it groaned and squawked its way up, chains screeching in protest, you’re left wondering if it’s about to be your last ride. For reference: there were only two of us, and we didn’t even crack 250 lbs combined. The hallways didn’t ease the nerves either. Dim lights, flickering bulbs, and carpets with ominous stains set the mood perfectly. Weirdly enough, it smelled like freshly washed linens, the kind that reminded me of my grandma’s house, which was a brief but welcome pause from the unsettling ambiance. Our first room was… a journey. The key didn’t work (no surprise there), but after a few attempts, we got in and were immediately transported back to the 80s, but not in a cute, retro way. The couch looked like it had lived through several lifetimes, the TV console was hanging on by a thread, and the bed? It had a bold black hair front and center as a welcome gift. Naturally, we checked under the covers for more. The bathroom was the cherry on top: yellowed grout, a door that you had to body-check just to get open, and a ceiling tile dangling over the tub, threatening to drop in at any moment (see photo evidence). After a risky shower, the towels didn’t exactly dry you off. Instead, they left a layer of lint that clung to your skin like it, too, was desperate to escape the hotel with you. As an added bonus, the hotel kindly shuts off the air conditioning at midnight. Nothing like waking up in a surprise sauna to round out your stay. The second room in our reservation had a slightly better view, but they really outdid themselves this time by garnishing the couch with bacon bits. We kept our shoes on, sat on the bed, and embraced the adventure. For $200 a night, it’s an experience you won’t forget. If you’re into haunted hotel vibes and enjoy a good survival story, this place is a must. Otherwise, I’d suggest signing a petition to invest in this property’s much-needed resurrection.

Do not stay here!!! Absolutely atrocious and dirty. We booked this hotel and unfortunately didn’t check reviews until after we checked in and just believed the pictures provided by the hotel of a decent place to stay. Not only is this hotel dirty, the service and attitude from the manager is deplorable. The carpet is beyond disgusting and dirty, the thermostat is basically just a wall decoration, the bathroom is dated and dingy, the walls were so thin that we heard the other guests arguing from our adjoining room (which wasn’t disclosed that we had a door between a stranger’s room. Thankfully it locked but still…), there was a spill in the elevator that went uncleaned for hours, loose electrical outlets, dead fish in the koi pond, the lights barely worked… I could go on for hours. When we went to the front desk to complain the night we checked in, there were multiple other families downstairs complaining, which is extremely telling. We were told nothing could be done until the morning when the manager was in. Since we have 2 young kids and couldn’t chance not having a place to sleep for the night before carrying on the next morning, we decided to tough it out until the morning when the manager was in. We were given a fan to help cool the room, but the fan didn’t work. The second fan they gave us, thankfully worked. In the morning, the manager offered us $20. Twenty dollars?! When we told him that was ridiculous and explained how absolutely disgusting our room (and the whole hotel was) he said “well this is why we have the cheapest rooms in town.” That’s an absolutely ridiculous response when people are bringing up a legitimate concern when your establishment is borderline unhygienic. Eventually we got the manager to agree to a 50% refund, so we took that and left. We will not be returning, and would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked a "lake view" room with this hotel about a month ago. When we arrived at the hotel, we first noticed that there was very minimal parking available. There was a sign in the parking lot that said to ask for and display a parking pass if staying at this hotel, otherwise your car will be towed. So we walk into the hotel to the front desk check in. They only had a single gentleman working that day and it was only his 3rd day after training. He looked a bit flustered and busy but we werent in a rush so we were patient with him. During check in, they never asked for ID which should be procedure at almost every hotel, they only asked for my credit card. Then after we were checked in, i inquired about a parking pass since they didnt mention it at all. He said that if we were parked in the parking lot we SHOULD be ok as they dont check THAT OFTEN. Very unprofessional and i did not feel safe leaving my vehicle in their parking lot. Once we went up to our room, we were shocked...at how bad it was. The entire room was dark and depressing, only had one tiny window, very minimal lighting, and had a horrible smell to it. I should mention the entire hotel had a smell but it was so much more noticeable in the room. On top of all that, the singular tiny window in the room DIDNT have a view on ANY lake. I tripled checked to see that i did in fact book a lake view room. So i went back to the front desk to ask where the lake view was and if they gave us a wrong room by accident. The front desk then told me that all their lake view rooms were SOLD OUT. When i booked it a month ago. Why would they let me book it if it was sold out? We drove 7 hours to harrison for a nice view and a clean hotel room. If we wanted dark rooms with bad smells and horrible lighting i wouldve stayed in my basement instead. The front desk told me i could complain to their manager instead, and i said sure where is the manager? They replied that he would be back the next morning, which doesnt help the situation at all since what we needed at that point was a clean place to stay that night. The front desk did mention afterwards that they gave us a room with a small jacuzzi instead of the lake view, but it was also disgustingly unclean and unsanitary. And if we wanted a jacuzzi room we wouldve booked that instead. Additionally, the couple in front of us lining up for the front desk also had a similar problem. They booked a king size bed room but was told it was sold out as well. The were offered 2 twins beds instead, in which they took. In the end we had to look elsewhere for a place and our only option was another hotel with a room that was more than twice the amount we paid for, just to have a clean place to stay that night. The entire management and system of this hotel is ridiculous and completely unacceptable. Definitely would not recommend you stay at this hotel. If you can, choose to stay at another hotel in the area, even if u have to...

I just wanted to plan a little get away for end of summer for me and my man, I booked through booking.com and made the mistake of only focusing on price and never checked the reviews… I don’t mean this towards any of the front staff, they just work there. The problem is the manager/owner. Hotel is absolutely horrible and run down, when we walked into the lobby I felt hopeful and even said it looked lowkey nice. But SCAM lol the moment the elevator doors open it felt like a horrible movie. We get up to the 4th floor and the carpet, walls, ceilings had stains rips and water damage on top. Got to our room and was I was like EW loll, it wasn’t bad at first but then I went into the bathroom there was a black hole thing on the ceiling right on top on the toilet… the whole ceiling panels looked like they were gonna fall down. (Not to mention privacy scare) due to so many cases with hidden cameras. The amount of holes in the ceiling made me and my boyfriend feel watched don’t let me get started on the bath tub, had black stains on the floor so I wore slides to take shower… and the mirror legit looked like one that would be in a prison cell. then comes the AC unit, literally a block near the window and it was really loud and didn’t work unless ur legit right infront of it to feel the cool air didn’t circulate what so ever. Microwave was dirty too I didn’t even wanna put drinks in the fridge either 😭.

AND THEN WORST PART the bed. We got the basic room it’s just the 2 of us but we had 2 queen beds . We needed the ac and since that don’t work properly we slept in the bed with the ac closets to it but the pillows were stained w some black shi. I switched the pillows from the other bed but still didn’t feel clean enough. I swear the whole time we were in the room we felt dirty even tho we just showered I felt soo gross. I wore slides the entire time walking in the room right to the bed when I take them off I didn’t trust the cleanliness of the room what so ever.

So just a warning to anyone planning on staying here. Please just don’t… not until the management fixes literally EVERYTHING. I’m in no way a picky person when it comes to places to stay, I’ve stayed at run down motels and high end hotels and it’s all the same to me. But CLEANLINESS and just over all safety is one thing that should be in every single facility! Don’t hotels have like health checks by people or something? How did this hotel even pass anything… and we still paid a little over 300 for 2 nights. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Please just don’t go.. just spend another $100-200 to stay...
