Hotel Clementin in the Old Town of Prague is a house with a very special charm, very good room facilities, courteous service and excellent location. Besides the fact that it is a historical building from 1380, it is also the narrowest surviving house from that time in Prague - at the widest point it measures just 3.28 meters. However, this circumstance should not hide the fact that the house offers fully and modernly equipped, very neat, clean and spacious rooms with separate bathroom and an elevator to reach them. But other details are also convincing here: The rather small breakfast room on the first floor belies the fact that there is room for an extensive and full breakfast buffet even in the smallest of spaces. Eggs, sausages, ham, jam and Nutella, cheese, muesli, vegetables, yogurt, tea, coffee, juices, baked goods - there is room for everything and it tastes simply excellent. The reception is not staffed 24 hours a day - but that doesn't matter, because on the one hand you get access with your chip card at any time and on the other hand you can always reach someone quickly in case of emergency. During the occupation time one may enjoy an exceptionally hospitable and obliging service, which leaves nothing to be desired. If you want to explore the city, this is an ideal starting point. The Charles Bridge is not much more than 300 meters away, the castle can be reached on foot in less than half an hour, the Clementinum with its baroque library and a magnificent observation tower is right on the doorstep and the large market square and the many stores and restaurants of the old town can be reached on foot in a few minutes - nevertheless, in the rooms you don't hear anything of the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds and thus always have a haven of peace in a prime location. If you are good on foot, you don't need a cab or bus for the transfer from the train station to the hotel - the walk takes about 30 minutes and takes you past the Powder Tower, the Teyn Church, and the town hall clock and makes you want to see more. Those arriving at noon or in the early evening should definitely try the Lángos at the large square next to the town hall clock and/or the original Prague ham freshly prepared there. A delight! In summary, I can't help but give the Hotel Clementin the highest score - the overall package just fits perfectly. I have nothing to complain about and can recommend this hotel without hesitation and with pleasure.

My wife and I adored our recent two night stay at this absolutely charming small hotel in the centre of Prague. Not only is the hotel perfectly located within a short walk to major tourist attractions such as the Charles Bridge and Astronomical Clock, but it is a quiet, beautifully maintained historic property on its own; the narrowest preserved house in Prague. What made our stay especially memorable, however, was the exceptional welcome and service we received from the hotel staff throughout our stay. Special mention must be made of Alice who deserves to be named Prague’s honorary ambassador. As this was our first visit to Prague, Alice took time orienting us and gently recommended a fabulous concert that was taking place in the nearby Church of Our Lady before Týn. Even though we had made dinner reservations for that evening and the concert was sold out, Alice managed to get us tickets to the magnificent concert, rescheduled our reservation to another day and reserved a table at another restaurant near the church so that we would have time for dinner after the concert. Her knowledge of her city was impressive and she ensured we made the most of our short stay in spectacular Prague. She readily provided us with hints of where to go and what not to miss. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was a special treat, too. The array of choices was incredible and frequently replenished. In the event there isn’t any availability for your stay in Prague, we would recommend you consider changing your dates in order to stay at this delightful hotel; it’s that special.

We were kind of disappointed by this hotel, based on the overall reviews and descriptions. As for very old building and its unique character (being narrowest in the city), it is very modern in all finishes. There is no charm. IDK why, but we were hoping for some antique/historical atmosphere. Room we had was very small, with weird wallpaper creating wavy perception (walls seemed being uneven), fully carpeted floor making you think it cannot be really clean, big windows/balcony door into tiny lightwell, bathroom not cleaned properly, bathtub floor sloping rapidly on sides. Maybe it was just this room, and all other reviewers stayed in different rooms and thus were so happy. Front service was very pleasant (not typical czech), breakfast was excellent, location is very "fine". While walking in old town and seeing other hotels in Prague, we will definitely choose another.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel in mid-October 2016. Here are the strengths of this property: Outstanding location very close to the Charles Bridge and to Old Town Square. In spite of its great location, it was still reasonably quiet. Free breakfast that had a nice variety of items to choose from. Free wi-fi that actually worked unlike some hotel wi-fi's that did not. While we did not use it, the staff offered to change foreign exchange at rates that were reasonable. Historic building originally built in the 14th century added a bit of an extra charm.

My peeves about this property: The room itself was tiny so much so that even with just a few pieces of luggage it became very hard to move around. This is a small hotel with few rooms and while that makes a 24X7 reception unlikely, we should have been informed of that by the hotel. The night we came into Prague at 11 p.m. we had a shock when we found the property door closed before realizing how we would have to let ourselves in. It was hard to find this place from the nearest subway stop. For one, it was very difficult dragging luggage over cobblestones but we were swayed by the description that this was a 5-minute walk. It is NOT. Also there were no signs which denoted this property clearly and we walked past the hotel twice without even noticing it. I would recommend that the property provide clear walking directions on its website to people who might use the subway and also a bit of illumination. While the breakfast was good, the staff did not replenish...
