Before we’d even stepped foot into the property, I’d like to not that we’d receive no details of how and where to collect keys or how gain access to the property. Having read other reviews on booking.com, it would appear we were not the only ones who struggled to find this hovel.

I tried calling the property multiple times but never got an answer.

My wife ventured into a nearby hotel which turned out to be the same place, but it was far from obvious and surely, someone should be available to answer the phone?

Once in the room, we noticed there was no kettle, which by most standards is the norm for a hotel and even a hostel. The room was incredibly small, we’ve stayed in Prague dozens of times over the years, and this is by far, the smallest and most disgusting room I’ve ever stayed in.

It’s far too overpriced, dirty and I’ve stayed in hostels with better facilities, space and cleanliness.

We tried to speak to the young guy at reception, but he kept dismissing what were saying about the room and said he didn’t know what to say and that his sister ran the property. I ask for another room but was told they were fully booked, and they refused to give us our money back.

When we got to the room, it was like a furnace so, we turned off the radiator and opened a window, we like our room to be cool. The owners messaged us saying “you could have just turned the heating off, no need to waste precious energy for the whole house”, this is very odd, as we did turn the heating off?

Looking around the room, we noticed several things that clearly indicated this place is filthy…

• The top of the wardrobe had never been cleaned and is thick with dust, so was the top of the coat hanger and door frames. • The coat hanger was broken. • The shower was broken making it difficult to use and leaked over the floor. • The beds were hard as nails, as were the pillows. • The tops of doors were thick with dust. • No details on Wi-Fi or when reception was open. • No details the procedure in the event of a fire. • Although there was a safe, it was not bolted down and anyone could have just walked off with it. • While out, someone went into our room and closed the window. • The place is very noisy, not from the streets (given it’s a capital city) but from people banging around in the hotel all night. Outside, there are bins overflowing with dirty water, riddled with cigarette butts.

In fact, the whole area outside was dirty with junk and broken furniture spread about.

I’ve included images and you can clearly see; this place is not kept clean whatsoever.

Worst of all, while leaving the room to head out for the day, a couple approached us, asked if I was Pete, and immediately became aggressive. The man suddenly answered his phone and the woman who clearly has anger issues unleashed a load of abuse at us, we walked away before things escalated.

To summarise, although we spent little time in the room, we still wanted to be comfortable and without a refund, I was not going to pay for another room elsewhere, so we just made do.

The fact that the owners verbally attacked us on the property is not on and the whole experience put a downer on what was supposed to be a nice few days away with my wife.

I’d also like to highlight the really abusive response I got from a previous review and what is an honest review stating that my behaviour was unacceptable (even though we met once, and I barely said a word) and that we were too lazy to communicate with the hotel which is complete lies.

The truth is, this place is rundown, dirty and managed by sociopath’s who clearly have no idea how to run a hotel/guesthouse/hovel with beds.

Once we had logged the complaint with booking.com who are utterly useless at customer service, we then receive more abuse and are were accused of damaging the property which again, is complete lies.

My advice, avoid this hole, Prague is a beautiful place and there are far better...

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE. If I could give this hotel a minus rating I would. In all my years of European travel, this has got to be the most horrific experience I have ever had. Was told we would not be able to check in after 10 PM when our flight was slightly delayed. The hotel told us at 9:30 AM that it would be impossible for them to check us in after 10 PM and to contact our airline for any compensation. Had to pivot and get another hotel room for the evening. We were then emailed at 9:40 PM by reception that night to say it would be OK for us to show up and check in. We showed up the next morning to check in for my remaining three day reservation only to be told it had been canceled. When I started to express this was unacceptable leaving us stranded with the front desk receptionist, he called the police on us. The police said that there was nothing that they could do about this. The owner showed up after a long delay and was extremely rude and belligerent. When I told him that he was leaving the “out in the cold and stranded“ he stated “it is the summer in Prague and not that cold”. He also said that there was no way he would refund my money as there was a no refund policy at the hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent, but I have no idea as to the room quality. I certainly know the service is absolutely horrific. UPDATE: August 31st in response to your reply to my review. Your reply was evasive once again and never addressed the issues. “Hope you give us another opportunity to provide you with a better experience?” For your information, there won’t be a second time as you never gave us the opportunity to stay with you the first time. UPDATE 2: November 11, 2024. Dispute placed with our credit card provider and FULL REFUND ISSUED on this nightmare. Hotel was perfectly fine trying to steal our money but, thankfully, the bank stepped in to prevent their fraud. Highly recommend you do the same if you’re ever in the same scenario with...

Read before you book! The ONLY great thing about this place is the location! Man, you can't beat that! First off, the category of 4 stars hotel is a joke! This place is 2 stars but def not 4. Second, the rooms are dated and furniture is either broken or old and dirty. We also had to go buy showerl gel and shampoo bc the shower gel/soap they provided was so dilluted that by the time you squeeze and apply to your body, it would drip between your fingers. You'd think a 4 star hotel would have the basic necessities. Third, we were without heat one night bc they did not have a maintenance person at 5PM..How in the world you leave guests without heat in the winter time? We had to crank up the bathroom heater and leave the door open so we can sleep with some heat. Ridiculous! Lastly, the young man at the reception was beyond rude and has very poor customer service skills. He probably thinks he's funny but he comes off rude and dismissive. When we checked in, I asked for the wi-fi and he scoffed at me and pointed at the laminated sheet on his desk and then laughing said "oh you can guess the password it's not that hard". At first, I thought I'm overthinking and he did not just mock me...second instance, I went downstairs and asked how to turn the radiator on bc the heat is not on (it turns out it was just not working) and asked for a new blanket bc the one we had was stained and had hairs on it. He was very dismissive and said it's small things and he doesn't understand why I want another blanket, it's normal to have hair since they get washed in bulk. Why does it matter, can I pls get another one. I told him that for me it's not small and I would like a new one if possible. Just ridiculous! Worst hotel experience! We've travelled through Europe and stayed in many places, but this place is def falsely advertising...

Perfect location with fair prices. The hotel is in the Prague old town close to the river. There are lots of interesting places nearby. You can visit almost all the places by foot. You can also have a nice view of the city through the windows. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are also very responsive. They usually answer within a few minutes to your messages. If you need, I think they also offer assistance with airport pickup. If you travel by car, you can request them to reserve you a parking space before the arrival. The rooms were will arranged and mostly clean enough. There's a refrigerator, a safe and an air conditioner in addition to other commonly available stuff. Despite the general cleanliness, we found the inside of the refrigerator was not properly cleaned. There's some rust and looks a bit unpleasant. We didn't want to put food items without packing in there. The commode in the bathroom was also not cleaned will. We could also hear sounds of other guests walking around and opening/closing doors at night. This was not very disturbing and was fine with us. But if you are super sensitive to sounds you might not find things to be calm and silent when you are inside the room. Overall I find the place to provide a good value for money hence rate 5 stars.

Our experience at this hotel was absolutely terrible from the moment we arrived. We checked in around 10:30 pm for a 3-night stay, and as soon as we entered the room, we were hit with a strong, unpleasant odor. To make matters worse, everything was extremely dirty – the pillows, sheets, towels, quilt, and even the floor were filthy. We immediately went back to the reception and asked for cleaner sheets, but when we returned to the room, we found that the new sheets were just as bad, with yellow stains on them. By this time, it was around 11:30 pm, and when we tried to go back to the reception for help, we discovered they had already closed for the night. Despite all this, we tried to tough it out and stayed the night, but by morning, we simply couldn’t take it anymore and decided to leave early. Fortunately, we found a much better place to stay for the remainder of our trip. Despite the horrendous conditions, the hotel refused to refund us for the remaining two nights. This was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. I highly recommend staying far away from this place if you care about cleanliness and basic decency.
