Ah sure, let me tell you about the grand time I had at the Irish Times Bar. Now, there's many a place that claims they can serve a proper pint of the black, but let me assure ye, the Irish Times Bar does it with a finesse that'd make the saints sing. The pour, oh the pour – it's an art form, mastered only by those true of heart and steady of hand. As it settles, with that cascade swirling like a misty Irish morning, you find yourself transported straight to the emerald isles. This isn't just any pint; it's a pint poured with patience, served with a smile that warms ye to the bones. The head on it, creamy as the top of a milk jug, sits atop the dark brew like a crown. Each sip is a blend of bitter and smooth, a reminder of the craftsmanship that goes into every glass. And it's not just the Guinness that makes the Irish Times Bar a gem; it's the craic, the atmosphere, and the spirit. It's like stepping into a pub nestled in the heart of Ireland, where every stranger is just a friend ye haven't met yet. So, if it's a genuine slice of Ireland ye be after, with a pint of the black that's poured to perfection, the Irish Times Bar is where ye need to...
Read moreNice place to have a beer in the centre of the city, although we had more than just beer: The service was amazing and fast and polite. Everyone speaks perfect english. The food was also unexpectedly good for a pub. We had the soup which was very well done, the burger was juicy and the salad with the cheese felt home made. The fries were the only "meh" part of the diner, which were not bad - just your standard pre-fried fries. Prices were on par with what you'd expect at such a touristic spot. (This means the place is pricey) When we got there there was live music from a decent band and we enjoyed that, as well as the 30-40 year old hits that played on the speakers afterwards. Only truly bad point for the spot was the atmosphere: Downstairs was a bit chilly because the doors were open, but upstairs the atmosphere was almost suffocating. It being an Irish pub, you'd expect people to be a bit loud. However, there were more than 2 very large, very drunk groups of manly men which made the place feel a bit like a run-down drunk hole. I guess there is not much the place can do to attract better patrons. Or...
Read moreA Pint of Heaven in the Heart of Prague
If Ireland and Prague had a love child, it would be The Irish Times. This pub isn’t just a place—it’s a vibe, a home, and quite possibly the best decision you’ll make while wandering the cobblestone streets of this magical city.
The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the kind of warmth that makes you wonder if the manager has been expecting you all your life. The Guinness flows like poetry, perfectly poured with a creamy head that could make any Irish mammy proud.
But the real magic? The atmosphere. The Irish Times doesn’t just offer good craic—it delivers great craic. Between the live music, the friendly banter, and the staff who treat you like an old friend, you’ll forget you’re in Prague and think you’ve somehow landed in Dublin.
Whether you’re a local, a tourist, or just a Guinness enthusiast on a mission, The Irish Times is the pot of gold at the end of your Prague adventure.
