This restaurant is a stone's throw away from the Alma Bridge, where Avenues Montaigne, George V and Marceau converge and meet the Seine. The location is wonderful for business people, the fashion industry and tourists. Also, the menu was modestly priced. One would think the place would be a "can't miss." I had lunch there and ordered a ham and cheese omelet and cafe au lait. Here too, this should have been a can't miss. Read moreWe stumbled upon this charming restaurant, a stone throw away from the bustling Tour Eiffel area and decided to have lunch there. We immediately saw that it was quite busy and busy with locals and not tourists, which is always a perfect indicator of a good restaurant, decorated with theatre and movie posters from French plays and films, adding a great retro atmosphere. Clean premises, attentive waiters making everyone feeling welcomed. The food was excellent, good sized portions, amazing taste and reasonable price, the wine selection is pretty good as well. I can't recommend enough the 'Escalope de Veau à la crème et champignons' served with frites and salad, so Yummy. Quality/Quantity/Price ratio very good. A must visit if you are in the area and want to have nice food without the...

Although we lacked extensive comparisons with other local restaurants, the food here left us truly satisfied. The menu, ambiance, and welcoming staff created a wonderful sense of enjoying classic French cuisine in a traditional setting.
Our first meal was so enjoyable that we returned for another lunch before heading back to London. Seeing familiar faces among the regular customers affirmed our impression that this place is cherished by locals, which speaks volumes.
I'm not sure if "hidden gem" is the right description, but Bar des Théâtres is definitely a place I'll return to whenever...
