Waited about 5-10 minutes on a Sunday evening.
SERVICE: 4 Service is snappy and quick. Bean sprouts served as an appetizer.
FOOD: 4 4/5 Gyoza are delicious, bigger than average size, with lovely thicker skins but the filling falls apart rather than stick together. I wish the filling was more like a meatball. 3/5 Tantanmen: I was expecting the Tantanmen to be a thicker sesame broth with a scoop of ground meat seasoned with miso. What I got was a light, thin broth with a thin layer of sesame oil on top, very little sesame paste, boiled komatsuna, chopped long onions, and bits of ground meat scattered throughout the soup that I fished out. The house handmade noodles were delicious, tender and voluminous. My friend said the chashu ramen was OK, with three thick slices of pork and a light soy sauce based broth.
ATMOSPHERE 3 Nothing special here. Just a noodle shop.
About ¥2,000 per person. We shared a bottle of beer. The thud of the noodle-making was a bit unsettling in the beginning, but I got used to it. Probably wouldn’t...
Read moreI stopped by this place for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and value. It’s a solid spot if you’re looking for a satisfying meal without spending too much. The price-to-portion ratio is quite fair, making it a good choice for casual dining or a quick lunch.
I ordered the Tan Tan Men, which had a nice depth of flavor and just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. However, the broth was a bit more watery than what I’m used to with traditional Tan Tan Men, which slightly affected the richness and texture. That said, the flavor profile was still enjoyable and well-balanced.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the gyozas – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. They were cooked to perfection and made for a great side dish.
The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was clean and casual – ideal for a relaxed meal. I’d definitely consider coming back to try other items on the...
Read moreBest ramen I've had so far. Had the negi ramen myself, which had a bit of spice to it (and was not a type of broth I'd seen before) and was excellent. Tried my husband's ramen (no modifier on the menu, just "ramen") which was also phenomenal. The noodles were perfection! Busy and tiny (which is typical in this area), but off the main tourist drag so we were able to get seated within about 10-15 minutes. Didn't feel rushed by the staff (although we did try to be in and out and respectful of how busy they were) and had a delightful experience. Value was great- two beers, two ramen, and gyoza for under $30 USD. Oh, note that the entrance only had Japanese characters on it so it won't read "Bazoku" like it does on...
