Sayang-Sayang Guest House — Hotel in Malacca

The worse experience l had druing my Asia traveling last 7 months! Certainly first thing is dirtiness and the sewage smell in the rooms! To cover the smell they put naphthalene balls under the bed and in the AC. When l entered the room, the strong chemical smell burned my noise. It is very harmful for lungs! So l asked to the receptionist woman to take it out. She bent down and took 1 out. I said is that all you put, and she said yes. The strong smell was still in the room but l thought maybe will take time. Sleeping on and off all night in the smell wasn't easy. And in the morning l checked under the bed and got 7 more balls. So she obviously lied! Other than that, she stays in the hotel but doesn't go to her room till 1am. So either she is on the phone speaking laud ir watching movies. The rooms are next to the reception and all the noise is inside the room. Because door and window are not closing properly. They don't give you the remote control of AC. So only a button next to the door to turn it on or off! In the room there is no even one single hook to hang your dress. The bed is very old, the middle part was touching the floor! Pillows are very hard and high. Wifi is very bad although my room was next to the reception! I had to go out to cafe shops to make my reservations, booking,etc. For the toilets no word enough to describe so l am uploading the video l took, if Agoda allows me. I was honestly nervous about staying here because of the reviews but given I was staying for a while and wanted to save money I took the chance. I am so glad I did! Yes the rooms are basic and the mattress was a bit firm but what really impressed me was the host. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, she insisted I borrow her umbrella one day when it was raining, and sve gave me for free food twice! I had a terrible experience here: a smelly room, rude owners, bad management, and loud all day long. Yes, it's cheap and good located, but so are many better places nearby. Avoid this place if you can afford a higher price. They absolutely don't care about their clients, so the place is...
