The only dish we enjoyed was the nyonya laksa, I had high expectations because the other reviews on here said it was one of the good ones. I did notice many mixed reviews but we wanted to try this place at least once.
The buttermilk curry chicken was lacking in flavour, we couldn’t believe it was more expensive than the nyonya laksa when the taste wasn’t great. It was a struggle to finish it.
Mainly excited to try the tiramisu here, it was also disappointing. First of all there were no decorations on it as what I’ve seen in other reviews taken of it, I was the one who ended up using a fork to create some sort of design on the tiramisu, as it was looking too simple. No circle card, no little leaf, & no pattern on the tiramisu. Looked like it was made with little care. Mind you we arrived before noon, when the shop was not even half full, so there was no excuse to make it so half-heartedly. The tiramisu was lacking as well, again we scarfed it down pretty quick so as to not feel too full. My friend from Malacca told me there are other better spots than this, for dessert.
The staff were friendly though, we were taking pictures & one of the guy staff waited a bit so he wouldn’t disturb us, I thought that was nice. The female stuff was also very responsive when we needed bowls & extra utensils. I just want not a fan of the food. We only liked one thing out of everything we got.
We sat inside near to the door, but it was still quite warm. Their A/C is either not strong or it was just too hot out, I remember thinking I wanted to quickly finish eating so we can leave as it was...

The Old Station Cafe gives off those old-world vibes with vintage interiors, leafy corners, and big windows that flood the space with natural light. There’s a cozy, almost nostalgic charm to the place that makes it easy to see why so many keep coming back. The staff are warm, the vibes are laid-back, and there's no service charge, which, let’s be honest, is a rare treat these days.
That said, my own experience was a bit more mixed. I went for the kaya toast set expecting those classic soft half-boiled eggs, but what arrived was closer to hard-boiled, which made the whole dipping situation kind of a bust. A small detail, but for a breakfast purist like me, it threw things off. Thankfully, the tiramisu did live up to the hype, offering a nice little redemption arc for the meal.
Overall? It’s a charming café with a lot going for it, especially if you’re after an aesthetic spot with no-fuss service and comforting staples. Just a heads-up that consistency might be hit or miss depending on what you order. Worth a visit if you're in the area, just maybe steer your expectations...

When we asked on the authorosation code to place order, only then we were informed we need to order one item per person (we are 3 adults and 1 child @ 7 years old). When I asked if we could just order 3 but was declined by the staff, reason being is the 7 yrs old child also need to order one item. Since we already had breakfast, hence we left. The staffs did not even asked our concerns and just let customer walked out the door.
I understand if it is a peak hour and the cafe imposed this kind of in-house rules, however the whole cafe is empty without a single soul, and they prefer to lose customer this way. Especially this rule is not being mentioned at the entrance or on he table. At the end we just left and went to explore other cafes nearby and there are no rules on minimum order and restricted...
