Los Barriles is an undiscovered treasure! There are so many wonderful restaurants in Cabo, but what sets Los Barriles apart is the performance by the staff when preparing the meals table side, the musical entertainment, and the ambiance. We have been coming to Cabo for 8 years and Los Barriles is still our favorite restaurant. Los Barriles is a true dining experience. The musicians and singers are always a cut above what you will find elsewhere. For a really wonderful experience, ask the entertainers what song they would play or sing to make their own heart happy. You will find many are classically trained and they will play or sing something truly amazing, then be able to go right back into pop music from the 70s and 80s. We met Dante, who played saxophone and oboe, and were honored to hear some his own personally written music on the sax. For dinner, the tuna, red snapper, or catch of the day prepared table side will be absolutely delicious, with a decadent texture like velvet, silk, and butter with a garlic-brandy flavor that will make you do a happy dance in your seat and make little foodgasm noises. The Caesar salad prepared fresh at your table will also be out of this world. Don’t be afraid to get the anchovies in the dressing! Delicious! They will prepare it right at your table and it will be a work of art. Also try Kul, a Mexican Chardonnay from Baja that is another delicious, undiscovered treasure! Everything is so fresh and flavorful. Also, our daughter has celiac disease and they were able to make her a sashimi plate that she loved and didn’t upset her symptoms. Each time we come, Los Barriles turns our meal into a culinary experience we won’t ever forget. After years this is still our favorite restaurant in...
Read moreLos Barriles was recommended by staff from a local tequila tasting shop located on same street from restaurant. I had asked how much will lobster cost because so far, El Pescador in Cabo was in the lead for the best price ($25 steak and lobster), taste and for its decent size. All staff said, “don’t worry about the price.” Always open to new seafood places so we gave Los Barriles a try.
Our plan was to have a “taste trial” at Los Barriles since we already had a big breakfast at our resort couple hours ago. We figured, let’s size up the place and have a very light meal…with drinks, of course.
Menu had lots to offer. When we saw the price for lobster, it was not the price range we were looking for at this place or anywhere in Cabo. Almost doubled in price compared to what we’re use to paying in Mexico. We decided not to spend dinner here the next day.
On menu, Los Barriles had plenty to offer for all, but did not win our hearts on price points and food portioning. Nice fancy-like food prep presentation though, by our server. He appeared to give it his all. We appreciated his efforts, his attention to detail and attentiveness to all of us. He made sure we were taken care of.
The restaurant is an open setting, country style decor. Nice, quaint, and warm feel, we liked the place...
Read moreWe found Los Barriles on Google and decided to give it a try based on the great reviews — and it did not disappoint! The live music added a fun, upbeat atmosphere, and the patio was beautifully lit with string lights, making it feel very inviting.
We had two servers helping our table and the service was attentive and friendly. One of the highlights here is the table-side preparation of certain dishes. We ordered the guacamole and loved watching it being made fresh right in front of us — and it tasted amazing. We also saw other tables getting fish prepared table-side, which looked very cool as well. The food presentation overall was great and there were lots of menu options to choose from.
It was a little pricier than we expected (we spent about $120 USD for two entrees, guac, and two margaritas, including tip), but given the location and the experience, it felt reasonable for a tourist area.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Los Barriles if you're looking for good food, great ambiance, and a fun dining...
