The hotel is pricey for domestic tourist like me but for travelers who are seeking comfort out of home like , my work colleague Ms. Thea who is from Philippines it was cheap even though she paid 7000 nprs per night, she booked the hotel through online in advance before she arrived at hotel, her room was double room with 2 beds. The amenities were provide and she had a room with balcony.
I stayed there overnight in room 201 and my sister and her husband honeymooners on 301 the price charged for was 3500 rupees for my room and for my sister 4000 rupees as it was on upper floor with double occupancy with breakfast included , it was late in the evening and besides roaming around the lake side we decided to stay there. My room had ac turned on,had hot/cold water supply, mineral water, some tea/coffee setting with hot water kettle bathroom amenities such as bath gel, shampoo, bath soap, dental kit and bath towels .
But my complain begins with the telephone, there was no telephone in my room, now and then if I need to call,I had to call my friend thea or my sister or her husband which kind of annoying. Later on find out there is no hair dryer as well in my room even though I not using it should have been there as default . No welcome amenities like fruits or chocolates or anything were placed in both the rooms till other day. The door knob for clean my room is waste of time , don’t ever hang outside your door, as hsk doesn’t seems to care, even when you inform the lady in counter she says ok only but nothing was done until we came back from hour long boat ride by lake and lunch . While checking out the receptionist just took the money in return no receipt . The manager is too friendly & cool kind of guy well spoken but turns out to be sugar coated he said the breakfast would be set for us at 8:00 in the morning in the terrace but we followed up food from 8:30 am but the food actually came after 9 am only which is kind of disappointed. There is no lift in building you have to take stairs to reach other floor. Yes I know Pokhara is expensive compared to Kathmandu but I have been there before and since guests are like God they all should be treated equally, even if someone is foreigners or someone is your country men. Only good thing was view from the top...
Read moreWell located, good view, good porridge and a balcony at a very good price and extremely friendly staffs as most Nepalis would be. Their in-house jeep driver drives the hotel’s jeep as if it were his own personal jeep, which makes the passengers feel very safe when the jeep follows a very rugged mountain roads beside steep and high cliffs. Having Med5 in 20 seconds walking distance which is one of the best restaurants of Pokhara is also a bonus. When we checked out, hotel gave us a free taxi service to our next hotel which was about 1 km from their hotel. I told him thank you. But they gave us one more free taxi service when we checked out from this ‘next’ hotel to go to the airport, since he knew that this next hotel does not have free taxi service. This time I did not tell him ’thank you’ but ‘why?’ Then Mr. Sanjog told me we bought so many things from that hotel. 4 days trekking guide, 2 jeep services and 2 flight tickets to KTM. I think this second free taxi service from the next hotel to the airport maybe could have been possible because it was quite close to the end of season. Anyway it was surprising to me to see a free taxi service not from their hotel but from another hotel, and 2 days after we checked out from their hotel. I guess any traveler would face many similar cases, ‘how Nepalis are so kind?’ There’s small things to be improved. Wooden doors of each room are making big noise, since they don't have any anti-shock units on them. Easy/cheap solution for this would be using the sponge tape on the door frame. I discussed with Sanjog about this. And I wish he has done this by now. More minor thing is that some rooms don’t have curtain at shower area, which make more bigger wet area in the toilet. Since some rooms have curtain, I believe the managing staffs already know that it’s better to have it. Last thing to comment is that their standard room is a little small for us because we normally put 1 carrier, opened on the floor. So we moved the next day to a 2 beds room which still has space to step on, even after opening a carrier on the floor. In Pokhara there are also expensive/luxurious hotels. But for this budget, it seems waste of time to look for a...
Read moreThe Manager Sanjog Adhikari cheated me on a very bad way. He charged me a very high pick up price from the Bus Station to this hotel and sold me a Bus Ticket to Lumbini. I wanted to have a swift Bus Ticket. He said they would not have connvinient seats. He showed me pictures of a very luxery Bus and asked for the money in advance. I wanted to have a Ticket. He promised me to prepare the Ticket for the next morning. He also wanted to arrange the breakfast earlier and bring me to the busstation him self. He didnt apear and the other stuff didnt know about. So they called him and arranged a Taxi. In the end they ve put me in the cheapest public Bus without giving me a Ticket. Instead of 5 hours it took 11 hours. A wasted day of ny holidays And a lot of pain in my back and damaged and dirty baggage. After all I understood why Sanjog did not want to calculate hotel costs together with the Bus ticket and the pickup with creditcard. He wanted pickup and busticket in cash seperatly without recive Papers. My room had a Toilette. It was not allowed to put Toilettepaper inside the Toilette. It had to be keeped separate in a basket in the bathroom. It have never been removed from the hotel stuff. Also room cleaning never happened. The room was dirty. From the breakfast i got diary. It was the only one time in my nepal stay. If I compare this hotel to other hotels of my nepal stay: All others had better Service helpfull and Kind people and were clean and had a good breakfast. This hotel charged almost 3 times more money (3 nights 191 US Dollar) than other hotels (which are really reccomandable) and was the worsest expirience I had in Nepal.|So Shortly: Never again Hotel Lake...
