After traveling for nearly a week ( from Dubai-Delhi-Siliguri-Birtamod-Pokhara) I had a great disliking to Hotels and restaurants, and I was wondering what sort of place We would be holed in @Pokhara. Moreover, this was my final destination and I had planned to stay here for more than a week for wife's treatment. Reaching bus stop I was greeted with a usual scenario; taxi drivers and hotel agents. My wife was very much sick by now due to night travel and a bus trip full of drunken people. So I chose the first person to take me to a hotel. With many misgivings and bumpy feelings about what was coming up next, I reached this place- Hotel Lake Diamond. As we entered the gate, a feeling of homecoming swept over us. Everything was as if I have come to my home after many many years. And rest is the story of great hospitality, delicious food with so many varieties, heart warming members in this family and a place you don't want to leave. I would have stayed here forever and ever. But as I have to leave after a wonderful stay of ten days, I am already thinking of an excuse to come back again on another trip soon. Not for Pokhara only but for this amazingly wonderful home...
Read moreOn the street of Once Upon A Time restaurant. Family run. Quiet place with a nice garden. Amazing view of mountains in non raining season from the front facing first and second floor rooms. Airport pick up & drop service. Travel desk available. Wifi works better in front rooms. Baggage storage for short time. The owners wife, Didi, is a chef and can make amazing dishes, eggless cakes etc. Few rooms do need renovation. The best part about the owner is he can give you the best advise and help in case of any mishap or cheating by locals or sellers etc. I do know of few incidences where in he was of a great help. It's a family feel all around. If you are looking for a relaxed kind of place this is definitely one in Pokhara. Very strongly recommended. Even though you are staying else where do try Didi's dishes. Finger...
Read moreWe found this to be one of the most pleasant stays during our trip. The family was truly amazing amd extremely helpful. They had just built a restaurant at the front of their hotel where guests can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. The food was amazing! Didi the chef and her nephew always recommended what we should have and we found ourselves eating most meals here. They have a travel desk to help organise train/bus tickets or whatever else you need. The family make you feel at home and it was quite sad saying good bye. I would recommend this place to anyone...
