This morning after a good run me & a group of friends decided to have breakfast for the 1st time here at Le Cafe Crepe. As we approach to the entrance we were greeted by a non so pleasant, unprofessional lady! She did not hide her ugly looks one bit, after being asked were we wanted to seat, she insisted to seat us outside in the corner full sun out with our babies because she stated “we wouldn’t” fit, we suggested to leave our stroller outside, by the way 2 infants not 5 or 10 not to mention we were a party of Four. Anywho, she walks inside places the utensils in the table and walks away shaking her head & mumbling God knows what, at that point we know she’s very bothered. We sat down & got the most AMAZING Hispanic lady who definitely made things so much better & to save the day, I ask who was the lady that sat us down & she says “manager” at that point I’m not sure what bothered me more. If it wasn’t for our waitress and the amazing food I would of walked out. I hope the managers “Boss” pays attention who they give this roles too, she’s the first person we see & it’s the worse. Definitely needs to go back to managing “sonic” this is not it for her. Picture for attention!

The first time I went here, I walked up to the door, which has a hand-written sign to wait outside to be seated (weird), and told the guy outside I'd come for crepes. He looked kind of unhappy I was there, and said I'd have to wait 15-30 minutes. There was only one couple seated outside and no one else in sight. That was on a Friday afternoon. I wasn't willing to wait, so I left. When I went back on Saturday afternoon, many people were seated at the tables outside, and I was greeted by a gentleman who let me know that there was a wait, but I could be seated right away if I wanted to sit outside. I was already hot and sweaty, so that was fine with me. I ordered within a few minutes of sitting down, and had my food in ~15 minutes. I got the Classic and the Fruit Rouge. Both were delicious. Your visit here may be radically different depending on who your waiter is. The younger waiter seemed the most in tune with basic customer service skills. I guess my best advice is to remember that these guys are French: they're not going to roll out the red carpet for you, but they will make you a dang good crepe.

I had a 90-minute break from jury duty today and the missus picked me up to go to lunch. She said she wanted crepes and we said well let's find some and we found Le Cafe crepe. Nestled on the corner of second and Brazos this little cool spot had a nice decor that reminded me of Amsterdam We walked inside and we're greeted by our waiter and they were very nice. We gravitated towards the sweet crepes for this adventure. I got the Brie and pear crepe don't ask me how to say the name of it cuz I don't know. The wife got the crepe du jour which was raspberry with a rum sauce and a scoop of ice cream. Also got two Cafe oles. As you can see from the pictures, we ate everything. We talked with the staff about traveling across the world and had a great conversation with a gentleman who was thinking about moving to Austin. Parking is limited and you have to pay for it on the street metered so be aware.

I've always found it odd that Le Café Crêpe has never received more attention in Austin dining guides, food blogs, and best-of lists. After all, it's a longtime mainstay of the downtown area near the Convention Center (an area known for constant restaurant turnover and a dearth of quality, affordable dining), the prices are quite reasonable for the neighborhood, and, most importantly, the food is incredibly tasty. The menu is divided into several breakfast crêpes and a good selection of both savory and sweet crêpes, with the option to build your own crêpe as well. Among the savory crêpes, there’s an unusually strong selection of decent vegetarian options- for someone who is used to going straight for the only meatless option on the menu, this can make it difficult to choose! Try the Bruni, with goat cheese, caramelized onion, sundried tomato pesto, and fresh basil. The Greek, with spinach, feta, and green and black olives, is a solid option too. The dessert crêpes are refreshingly close to what I remember buying on the streets of Paris, and incorporate traditionally French ingredients such as Nutella, sugar butter, brie, baked apples and pears, and even Grand Marinier. Service here is generally quite speedy (under ten minutes for an order), even during busy times such as South by Southwest, and in my experience, has always been quite friendly. The decor goes for a slightly kitschy Parisian café theme. It doesn’t look much like the actual French cafés I’ve had the chance to visit, but the food tastes nearly as good! I wouldn’t make a trip downtown especially to eat at Le Café Crêpe, largely due to the saturated (and expensive) parking situation in that part of town. However, when you find yourself in the area, it’s one of the best bets for casual...

I never post reviews but after this experience I was compelled. I'm here on business and thought wow I'll eat here once a day, this is great! When you arrive, theres a sign on the door that says "wait outside to be seated". Dont follow that, itll never happen. After making myself known someone who appeared to be the owner provided me with a menu and just said to sit anywhere. So I picked a table, it wasnt packed so I wasnt bothered by this. Then the waiter came out and had absolutely no professionalism or enthusiasm about him. He provided the absolute bare minimum service. The wait wasnt long, but the order was wrong. In fairness he offered to add the missing item, but I didnt feel like waiting anymore. Especially when other patrons are walking up, confused by the wait outside sign, and then starring at me like I have the answer. The food itself was bland for the price. No spices were used in this meal, and just a sprinkle of pepper. This is nit pick, but icing on the cake for this experience. I asked for coffee with cream and sugar. Its served on the side, and most places know to leave room to add these so it isnt a worry to spill. Lastly, the waiter didnt even take the time to come back out to give me the check/run it. His co worker, much nicer and more professional, came out and wrapped things up quickly and professionally. I wouldn't recommend this place unless they decide to start looking at...

I visited Le Café Crepe while in town for a friends wedding celebration. After a fun night out we were famished and artisan coffee and crepes just sounded like they would hit the spot. The restaurant is very small and tight. I do appreciate the small café idea, but it just seemed too cramped for comfort. If it wasn't 100 degrees outside, we may have utilized their patio instead. Im only giving 3 stars because my crepe was quite tasty and again, I was famished. Other than that, the over all experience was enough to not come back. The waiter seemed very confused and was VERY slow. My friends and I ordered our drinks and food at the same time and I received my food and beverage before they received their espresso and coffee. Ultimately the waiter forgot and didn't come back to the table until we needed checks. A second waiter brought out the food and took the coffee reorder for my friends. As if that wasn't annoying enough, their food was waiting in the window ready for drop off for some time. Even the cook in the back said "table 7 still has not been taken out." We were table 7. Lastly, as all this is taking place, the owner was walking around barking orders at staff rather than helping. Overall, the crepe was tasty and my friends said the coffee was good when it finally arrived. Maybe when it cools off and the patio can be utilized it might be a better experience, but I doubt...
