Unquestionably the BEST tacos in Austin. Coming from Southern California and having spent a fair amount of time in Baja, I have a certain expectation when it comes to a taco and have not had much success when it comes to finding what I would call "authentic" tacos in Austin until I discovered this place.

Agreed, it isn't a place you are just going to happen upon and I was fortunate in a friend told me. There is plenty of street parking walking distance to the taco shop and one of the few food places that is open past 10pm downtown Austin. Sure wish I would have found this place sooner during some of my nights downtown.

To start, the tacos meat is fresh and made to order. I have been to so many taco places in Austin that serve the meat that has been cooked/prepared quite a bit ago and just sitting in a warming bin. I ordered the Carne Asada... again, something I have rarely found here in Austin and they do it the correct way with a avocado sauce on top. There is someone who is grilling up the meat as you order it so again, you can see how fresh it is.

The other tacos I had were the Adobada and like the carne asada, the meat is cut fresh as you order it. They have it on a rotating spit and there is someone just standing there carving the meat fresh to order.

You have a choice of corn or flour tortillas and we had the corn. I'm not sure if they make the tortillas; most taco places back in SoCal and in Mexico I'm used to seeing them make and cook the tortillas right in front of you.

They also serve beans in a cup that are epic! The green salsa is good, but needs to be spicier. Overall, the BEST tacos in Austin. They are a bit more expensive and it would be nice if they would make the corn tortillas also fresh. I'm guessing they use cilantro and onions but it seemed pretty sparse. Instead of all the pineapple, it would be better with white onion...

what you need to know before coming to this place

this is not just a hole in the wall you actually have to go through either the alleyway or Roma bar through the front through a veil in the back to get to this place it's like something straight out of Twilight zone

then on top of that they have their own restrooms they have their own dining areas and apparently this is like authentic Mexican tacos all night long like real authentic Mexican taco nothing fake nothing cheap like even the good real legit me on the slow turn cooker Mediterranean style but Mexican style authentic

The new quesadillas tacos burritos the works as well as have the guacamole and chips and a couple sauces apparently the owner is very particular about reserving the authenticity of this Mexican restaurant which is really bizarre because you get to it through a veil through Walmart bar which is really bizarre or an alleyway which is even more bizarre because then there's a tequila and whiskey bar there as well in the alleyway very bizarre

lots of napkins to get glass authentic soda drinks which are even more so a A+ Plus like now I know where to get authentic glass sodas late night downtown Austin walking distance from the convention center!

also they blast a Mexican music here everybody here speaks Spanish as well as English and keeps the vibe going with a positive energy all night long highly recommended to customer service here is also a source of...

Nestled discreetly within downtown Austin's bustling streets lies Taqueria 10/10, a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable culinary adventure. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly made tortillas and chips envelopes you, setting the stage for a flavor journey like no other.

At Taqueria 10/10, authenticity reigns supreme. Each bite of their homemade tortillas transports you to the streets of Mexico, where the art of traditional cooking is alive and thriving. The crispness of their chips is unparalleled, providing the perfect canvas for their vibrant salsas and mouthwatering guacamole.

Despite its culinary prowess, Taqueria 10/10 remains humble, tucked away from the tourist trail. This clandestine atmosphere adds an element of excitement to the dining experience, as if you've stumbled upon a well-kept secret.

While the food undoubtedly steals the spotlight, it's worth noting the only hiccup encountered during our visit: the presence of trash in the alley. However, this minor issue pales in comparison to the exceptional flavors and hospitality found within Taqueria 10/10.

In conclusion, Taqueria 10/10 is a must-visit destination for any discerning food enthusiast seeking an authentic taste of Mexico in the heart of Austin. With its hidden charm and homemade delights, it's no wonder this establishment earns a perfect...
