Nestled in the heart of Breckenridge, Unravel Coffee offers a warm and welcoming retreat for coffee lovers and adventurers alike. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy, rustic atmosphere with an inviting vibe that feels like a perfect blend of mountain charm and modern cafe culture. The exposed wood beams, plush seating, and minimalist design create an environment that’s ideal for both lounging and getting a little work done.
My barista Malina was so polite wonderful. But let’s talk about the coffee. Unravel takes pride in its meticulously sourced beans, and it shows in every cup. Whether you’re sipping on a classic espresso, a smooth cortado, or a more adventurous concoction like their signature maple latte, each drink is crafted with care and precision. The espresso is rich and bold without being overwhelming, and they pull each shot to perfection. The maple latte stands out for its subtle sweetness and warm, comforting flavors—perfect after a cold day on the slopes.
Aside from the coffee, their pastries and light bites are worth mentioning too. The almond croissant is buttery and flaky, with just the right amount of sweetness to balance the coffee. For something heartier, the avocado toast with a poached egg is a crowd-pleaser, fresh and flavorful.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations or chat about the beans they’re brewing. There’s a genuine sense of community here—whether you’re a local or just passing through, Unravel makes you feel at home.

Read moreWe were huge fans and regular customers at the old Denver location. My daughter has pediatric feeding disorder and will actually eat the chocolate smoothie & overnight oats from here. So when we were in Breckenridge yesterday we walked through the fresh snow to get her a smoothie (and ourselves a breakfast burrito and avocado toast). They were out of overnight oats which was a bummer but happens. The food was awful, and inedible. The avocado toast was a piece of bread with a avocado sliced and layed on top, nothing more. My husband tried eating the breakfast burrito but couldn’t. Apparently there was something hard in it. The smoothie was so thin and liquidity that my daughter rejected it and didn’t eat anything for breakfast. For the 3 items our bill was $50 and left everyone hungry. I don’t mind a bad round of food here and there but when we leave our condo to get a smoothie for our kid who will only eat certain foods and they couldn’t execute a smoothie, well we won’t be back. If you have a child with feeding difficulty and think you’ll get the same food/smoothie quality you got in Denver at the old location think again and...

Unraveled Coffee is a great upscale concept that has dialed down its coffee quality over the years. I've been keeping an eye on the Breckenridge location from day one and was intrigued by the audacity of a customer smokeless roaster and the speakeasy approach to crafting coffee. The branding tells you you'll get a well-crafted coffee and great hospitality, but the reality is more akin to a pretty-okay kind of warm drink from a busy barista dishing out the same coffee you can get across the street, cheaper. If you're a fan of mochas, be sure to ask for half of the chocolate so you can taste the coffee and hopefully skip the excessive sugar.
Try it yourself and judge, but don't be fooled by the pricey hotel, glass to-go containers, or unreadable logo. It's now an average destination at best.
Also of note - While they still roast their beans, they don't do it in the ultra-fancy roaster you'll see to the left of the bar anymore. The "one of a kind" roaster sits in the corner of the bar as a relic of the "next-level" experience it...
