Stayed here during the off-season. It looks like it is a old appartement complex that was converted to a hotel. Rooms are small and sparse, but clean and comfortable. Our room was lacking some storage / shelves to put stuff on, but the ironing board fixed that problem! The walls are kinda thin, so you do hear the street noise, birds and other guests, but never to the level that is was bothersome. Never had a problem with parking and you can walk to the beach (just 2 buildings down). Village Cafe on the corner is convenient and while maybe a little bit pricey for what you get, the quality is good and you can't beat the convenience of it being right at the corner of the street. Ask the front desk staff for the 10% discount card. For about 1/3 of what you pay at the larger tower hotels in the area, North Beach Solas was overall a great stay and good value for money.

Very hard to find location. Check in in one place and your room is in another place. There's not even one elevator, very luggage unfriendly, stairs everywhere. Imagine someone with a big suitcase, having to drag it all around trying to find Ugh. Didn't like it. And the room is just fine. Overall, I personally got disappointed.

Was okay. Room was difficult to check in, there was a confusing sign directing me to a different hotel to check in. Was there for only 1 night had early flight

We visit Fort Lauderdale on a regular basis. We are a family of four but this past trip we had an extra person with us. It can be difficult to find a decent priced place for a family of five. We found Solas and we are so happy that we did!!! We stayed in a suite that had 2 queen beds and a king bed. The suite had more room than we could have asked for...it was great!!! Traveling with three teens can be tough but we all had our own space and loved it! The bathrooms were a bit dated but there were two of them in our suite so we were very happy!! We LOVED our extra space in the breeze way...it was great to leave all of our sandy items out there. Wish there was a bit of decor to the place but it was clean and thats what is important! The staff was amazing! They were always helpful when we needed extra towels or an extra blanket. They provided us with beach chairs and an umbrella. Monique, Gabriel and Kristina were awesome....thanks guys for always being there to answer questions, give us cold bottles of water and just chat :) ||My kids LOVE Primantis Pizza and Yo Mamma's Ice Cream...both were in walking distance. My husband rented a bike one day and it was great! Beach is a block away and there are multiple pools you can use in...

I initially left 5 stars but this is an update. We stayed there on the weekend of June 9th. We had a 2 bedroom apartment booked because we were sharing it with another couple. The 1st night the A/C broke and because it was so late there was no maintenance available so we suffered in the room. We weren't offered another room that night which in hindsight would have made the stay better. But the next day the manager offered us a free breakfast for 4 at the restaurant and stated she would refund a one nights stay. It is now July 7th and my credit card had still not been credited. this is very disappointing especially since I had called 3 times to ask about the refund. Fortunately I live in the are so I will have to pay a personal visit to the office to lodge further complaining. Also the bed sheet had a huge hole in it and the towels are very old. My initial review was higher because of the manager agreed to credit us but now I have...
