UPDATE: BE VERY CAREFUL!! Someone fraudulently tried to charge $250 to my VISA card from Residence Inn Nashville Downtown today (6/26/24 12:17a.m.). The same card we used at THIS hotel on 6/5/24 - 6/10/24. The VISA Card fraud department caught it, and is pursuing the fraud. Thank you!
This was my husbands, and I first trip to Nashville, TN. We booked with downtown Residence Inn by Marriott to be closer to the 4 day/night Nissan Stadium CMF. When we first arrived we were greeted by Carolina. Lovely girl, winning smile, courteous. She stated we would be charged $100 a day for "incidentals" that would be taken off the card when we checked out. Although my sister, and her husband were NOT charged anything. Ok, no biggie. Went up to our room, and it was REALLY nice, large. Turns out these rooms are 'time shares'. We had everything a kitchen could want..i.e. Full size fridge, stove, microwave, etc. The ice machine ran all night, because the plastic button to stop the ice maker was broken off. Who knew you can't sleep with a refrigerator right by your pillow?! Onward! The toilet in our room ran continuously. No matter what we tried to do it just kept running. Not cool, because in the day time, they hired a DJ to play music at the pool where our bedroom overlooked. The music BLASTED AT HIGHEST VOLUME ALL AFTERNOON. We were on the 16th. floor, and still heard it loud and clear. With concerts going until midnight, breakfasts served no later than 9:30 a.m., visiting the sights during the day, the only other time to catch any rest before the CMF concerts was in the afternoon. So, that was out of the question. Next, we have "AQUA LYRICS Pool Bar Kitchen" where they sell food, and liquor. The four of us sat down at a table, and waited 15 minutes for anyone to approach. We thought perhaps we were supposed to go up to the bar, and request our own menus. We were just coming to that conclusion when a woman FINALLY approached us. She took our order, very pleasant person, then left. She arrived a little while later with our drinks, and took the food order. Ten minutes later she told us she was going off duty, and could we pay before we get our order. We agreed, and paid the bill, as well as, gave her her tip. Another half hour went by, when we received our food. We now had been there 50 minutes. They gave us 2 out of the 3 orders we had asked for. When I approached the bar, after waiting another 5 to 10 minutes for the final order to arrive, and asked for a refund, the bartender told me the food would be right out. The item in question was Caprese Salad, mozzarella, tomatoes, basil. No cooking needed!! "Aqua Lyrics" was a nightmare to go to for us. Oh, and there were approximately 4, or 5 employees behind the bar just chatting away while we were waiting for menus, which is why we were so puzzled. Now we also have the problem with WIFI/INTERNET. The problem? We had none, zippo, nada in our room. When I called the main desk I was told I would have to call another number for technical support. I spent 20 minutes with a foreign sounding woman, who I had a hard time understanding, only to tell me she'd call me back. Eventually the wifi was turned on in my room, but that was after I had to give her all sorts of info. from my phone!!! Yikes!!! Can you say SECURITY?? UNBELIEVABLE!!! So, in conclusion, the breakfast was GREAT AND DELICIOUS. Service at breakfast was VERY GOOD. Always had refills of everything with NO WAIT TIME. The manager of the breakfast area should get a raise. Very well managed. The receptionists were all pleasant, courteous, professional, and...
Read moreWe were recently in town to attend a family wedding. The location of the hotel could not be more perfect (walkable distance to the convention center, country music hall of fame, Broadway, etc.). The lobby area was absolutely stunning and the pool (while we didn't get a chance to use it) was so unique and had a really fun vibe to it. While overall I am thrilled with the hotel and honestly would stay there again, there were some minor inconveniences.
When we checked in, we noticed that the shower did not have shower gel. When we were heading out for our event, we went to the front desk and informed them and asked if they could replace that while we were out. We saw the associate write down the information and inform us that it would be taken care of. When we returned, there was still no soap. In the morning, we called down to the front desk and asked again if housekeeping could bring up some shower gel. When we got back from our lunch, still no soap. Luckily, there is a Dollar General down the street and we were able to go buy a bar of soap, but it was a bit inconvenient. Another thing I would like to mention is that the comforter had visible stains on it from previous guests and no fitted sheet (it was just a flat sheet tucked in, but did not cover the entire mattress).
Lastly, something that seemed strange in the moment; we had called down and was granted a late checkout, which we greatly appreciated as our flight was in the late evening. While we were walking our family down to their car in the morning, a member of housekeeping asked if we were checking out, but we informed them of our late checkout and room number and they seemed okay with that. At/around 1pm, while sitting in our room on the phone, someone entered our room. They did not knock or announce themselves, but I assume that once they heard me speaking on the phone, they realized the room was not empty and backed out before I could see who it was. No harm, no foul, but what if we were in the shower or not clothed? There was something not very comforting at the same time about the fact that someone entered without hesitation.
As I stated earlier, I would honestly love to stay at this hotel again. Overall it was comfortable, convenient and unique, there are just a few small things I wish were looked...
Read moreWhat can be said about the Residence Inn Nashville that hasn't been said about having a tooth removed, having been audited by the IRS or paying a divorce lawyer? My newly minted husband and I decided that Nashville was a city needing to be crossed off of our bucket list and while we booked our trip with great fanfare our experience (when weighing the cost) wasn't exactly what we had bargained for. Our journey began in the parking garage of the hotel when we arrived where we learned that simply parking our car, at our hotel, would cost us an additional $200 in the form of $40/day valet parking fee. A fact that wasn't disclosed on Travelocity. Terry, the front desk attendant was the sole bright spot for the Residence Inn. Upon learning this was our honeymoon he upgraded our room and placed us on the 19th floor. A fact that was overshadowed by the stellar vistas of the neighboring hotel under constant construction raining Styrofoam into the pool I so desperately wanted to swim in. Day 2 didn't start off great either, the hotel decided to play us the song of its people in the form of a incessant 15 minute fire alarm test. I will say that the hotel was in perfect walking distance to the Ascend Amphitheatre and to Ryman Auditorium, which is why we booked it in the first place, but the constant bottleneck of guests awaiting the 1 sometimes 2 operating elevators made getting to and from the 19th floor about as enjoyable as getting my teeth drilled. The Las Vegas style perfumed air being pumped into the lobby only further reminded me of hemorrhaging money, thankfully I was distracted by the jackhammering occurring beneath my feet, wondering if there was a literal pit of despair that I would fall in to. We did utilize the kitchen that came with our room, that aspect was great. However turn down service occasionally forgot to restock our coffee and dishwasher detergent, but the housekeepers were quick to bring us some when asked. To sum up, yes the rooms are nice and good location, but for the cost, I probably wouldn't...
