This hotel is absolutely spot on, cannot fault it at all. Even more so that there are no extra resort fees/hidden charges or taxes like other hotels in Nashville. Not only that but you get a full on little kitchenette too with a full size fridge/freezer. ||We arrived on a Friday night about 8:30pm and were quickly checked in. There was a popcorn machine that you were able to help yourself to with plenty of seasonings. However, I believe this is only available from Friday to Sunday as we didnât see it for the rest of our trip from Monday onwards. The hotel has a little shop where you can buy frozen food to cook in the room, including ice creams, breakfast buns, crisps, chocolate, sweets and drinks (drinks are very expensive though) 500ml bottle of coke cost $4. The hotel also has a little souvenir shop and you can buy medicines and laundry detergent too. ||The hotel has a pool, laundry room, gym and a storage room too. The hotel lobby also has pool tables, shuffleboard and other board games too. ||We booked two rooms, one double and one with two queen beds. Both were gorgeous big rooms with comfy couches too which converted to pull out beds. The double room we had looked out onto the pool which unfortunately meant we had to have our blinds down the whole time as we didnât want people to be looking in from the pool. The air-con in the rooms was amazing which was welcoming with how hot it was outside. ||The location of the hotel was perfect! 10-15 minute straight walk to Broadway or you can get even jump on a scooter straight outside to Broadway, which we did one night. There is a lovely doughnut shop connected to the hotel called Parlour Doughnut which was lovely. There is a Starbucks across the road and right behind the hotel is a little bodega where you can buy 2 litre bottles of coke for $4 to store in the fridge (much better than the 500ml bottles for $4 in the hotel), they also sell lots of different alcohol too. ||Also from about 8pm, a hot dog man comes and stands on the street corner which we loved and visited him about three times during our stay. A hot dog costs about $9 but is so yummy! He is there until about 4am. ||We only unfortunately went down for the breakfast one night and even more unfortunate it was on our last day. It is totally worth getting up for, there is so much to choose from and the waffle/pancake maker is amazing. ||One thing about this hotel is when we checked out, I accidentally left my air-tracker on the side next to the tv and realised half an hour after we had checked in. As we were sat in the lobby waiting for our flight, I went up to the desk to ask if I could check the room. They wouldnât let me back up the room and instead I had to wait about 15 minutes for somebody to go up to the room and check, by the time somebody checked the room the room had been cleared and said they couldnât find anything. After more waiting they let me go up to the room and the person bless them did turn the room upside down and even pulled out the couch even though I knew exactly where I left it which was on the cupboard where the tv was standing. The man asked a cleaner who was outside if they had seen it and she admitted she did but has threw it in the trash and she then spoke in Spanish to another cleaner nearby and they quickly changed their story to they didnât see it. The man who had turned the room upside down, invited me to the trash compactor to see if I could hear the air tracker alarm. Whilst I couldnât hear the alarm, the tracker said it was in that exact location so it was already in the compactor. The hotel only offered me Hilton points to put towards a future stay which I didnât accept as we had to leave to go to the airport but the air tracker wasnât expensive anyway it was just the principle that it had been thrown away and not given a chance to be collected. I can still see the tracker now at its final resting place at a landfill not far from Nashville. ||However, does not stop how incredible this hotel is. I 100% would stay here again and I would be happy to pay resort fees for such a great hotel with so many amenities. The beds were super comfy and the tv was...
Read moreDo not do business with this Hotel!
The service here is so bad, and the management staff so rude, that I doubt I will ever do business with Hilton or Home2Suites again, and this is coming from a Hilton Honors Gold member.
We were scheduled to attend a conference in Nashville this upcoming week, but had an unexpected death in the family, and obviously have a need to cancel.
After calling to cancel, but the Hotel not having any management staff actually working to do the cancellation, we received a message from one of them saying that we couldn't cancel without a cancellation fee, but they would give us an option and "this in itself is only an exception and it is what I'd recommend taking advantage of" to give us a credit to stay at their hotel for a future stay.
The tone of the voicemail was rude and dismissive, so when we called back we asked what the bereavement exception was, and the person told us that they actually didn't have the authority to make an exception, which felt off considering who left the voicemail message, so we asked to get a hold of someone who did have the authority.
When we were finally able to speak to this person, it rapidly went downhill even further.
We were informed that there was no bereavement exception and we would not be getting a cancellation exception as this was their policy. I informed them that I find this hard to believe, and I was told I was being disrespectful for doubting their policy. I was also told how long this person worked in the industry and how they had never made a policy exception. They HAD to stick to the policy and did not have the authority to override it.
They then accused us of lying and said we were contradicting ourselves, but when confronted about how we were contradicting ourselves, could not provide a single answer.
And then, to paraphrase them, "for people who claim to have a death in the family, you are spending a lot of time on the phone."
I am not sure what training they have at this hotel, but when talking to people who have had a death in the family, I don't think that would be the way of going about it.
I find the corporate double speak and abdication of responsibility of saying, "I can't do anything, its the policy" to be an incredibly poor way of doing business and interacting with the public.
Final thoughts:
Do not stay here, it can't...
Read moreWe loved our stay at the Home2 Suites for the Ed Sheeran concert at Nissan stadium. We did opt for the $39 Dollar garage parking for convenience - you do have unlimited in and out priviledges which we did not use. Check in was a breeze and although we arrived almost 3 hours early our room was ready. The room and bathroom were spotless. The room itself was spacious and convenient with the little kitchen with microwave and fridge/freezer. There was also a desk, good counterspace and as well as drawers. We only looked at the pool on the 2nd floor, but it looked clean and basically like a giant hot tub. There are also 2 bbq grills, a fireplace and some seating. Bridgestone arena is a 5 minute walk away, Broadway about 10 minutes. And it was a 20 minute walk across the pedestrian bridge to the Nissan stadium.
We always felt safe at the hotel, the garage has doors and at night you can only get into the hotel with your key card. You also need your key card to access the guestroom floors and the pool area. They hav2 a good selection of snacks available, but they come at a price. However, throughout the day they always had free coffee, water, apples, bananas and mini muffins available
The breakfast in the morning was amazing! Although it was super busy, there was plenty of food available with a lot of hot options (scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, sausage and turkey sausage, western omeletes, home fries etc), with plenty of seating and everything was kept clean and refilled.
It was an amazing stay at the Home2 Suites, everyone we've encountered was helpful and polite and this hotel will be our #1 choice for Nashville in the future. The only thing you might need is some patience for the elevators - we had to wait about 5 minutes during the...
