I arrived in Nashville on 8/8. I was staying at a hotel down the block from the Omni hotel and Barlines. After checking into my hotel I decided to go to Barlines and get some food to go for me and my girlfriend because we were starving after a day of traveling … biggest mistake ever. I got the IMPOSSIBLE BURGER and it was so disgusting that despite being soooo hungry I stopped after eating half of it (note… best decision ever) and couldn’t even eat the fries because they tasted like EVERYTHING else that had been in the fryer.
Just over two hours later I started feeling sick AF… cold chills and sweating at the same time. I was violently ill for the next 24 hours and beyond unwell for the rest of my weekend in Nash… I was there for 72 hours and because of that first meal I was unwell the entire trip… angry, disappointed and frustrated are just a few words that come to mind.
The fact that I got a food borne illness/food poisoning from an item that should not be capable of causing that to happen is an indication that they have unsafe and unsanitary kitchen practices. It had to be a result of cross contamination from raw chicken or other meat that came into contact with the garnishes or bread or impossible burger itself.
Even worse is I work in the service industry and DID NOT want to write this negative review. On two separate occasions I reached out to the restaurant and hotel. Spoke to multiple people and kept being told the food and beverage director would reach out to me to address my concerns. I don’t want to shame anyone… I tried to deal with this incident directly before taking it to the internet but they couldn’t care less apparently.
All I know is eating from this restaurant literally ruined my entire vacation so thank you for being a disgusting restaurant that doesn’t care enough to call back a customer who got sick eating food from your establishment… take my advice and avoid this place...
Read moreWith regards to the music, we had a blast. I don't want to take away from the extremely talented musicians. My review has everything to do with the bartending staff. My wife and I stayed in the Omni this past weekend and ended up with friends on Saturday night at Barlines. Having a nice time with old friends. At one point I went to the bar which was not very busy and ordered a vodka soda and a Jack and coke. I gave the bartender a $50 and he layed my change on the counter. I took a sip of the Jack and coke and realized it was a Captain and Coke. I politely said to the bartender I think you misheard me...I ordered a Jack and Coke not Captain. To my shock, he said no you didn't you ordered a Captain. I was dumbfounded at first. I responded with the obvious no I didn't, I know what I ordered. The bartender walks away and ignores me. So I look over to my wife in dismay and she comes up and he has the audacity to say that she ordered the Captain. I am flabbergasted now. She just got there...you can't make this stuff up. Without saying anything else he goes and appears to make me a Jack and Coke then grabs a $20 out of the change he left on the bar for me to pay for this other drink. I was speechless. Now I am angry. He tells me that the manager needs to come and deal with it and he is the only one that can issue a refund. After standing there for a good 5 minutes the "manager" comes over, gets in the register and hands me a $20 without ever acknowledging me and walks away. You have to really treat me poorly at a restaurant for me to feel the need to take the time to write a negative review. I can honestly say I have never been treated so rudely by someone at a restaurant as I was this past Saturday night. Ruined the rest of my evening...(which was silly for me to let this...
Read moreBarlines in Nashville presents an interesting contrast in experiences, offering a mix of both delight and disappointment. On entering, one is immediately struck by the cleanliness and classic atmosphere of the establishment. The ambiance is inviting, with a decor that tastefully nods to Nashville's rich musical heritage, creating a setting that's both comfortable and charming.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the service. Our server was absolutely amazing - attentive, engaging, and genuinely enthusiastic. This level of service is a rarity and deserves high praise. It contributed significantly to the pleasantness of our evening and is a strong reason to visit Barlines.
However, our culinary experience fell short of expectations. Nashville is renowned for its vibrant and flavorful food scene, but unfortunately, the dishes at Barlines didn't live up to this reputation. Our group unanimously found the food to be bland and lackluster, particularly when compared to other local establishments. The consensus was clear: while the atmosphere and service were exceptional, the food was a letdown.
That said, Barlines does shine when it comes to their cocktail menu. The drinks were expertly crafted, showcasing a fine balance of flavors and creativity. For those looking to enjoy a casual drink in a classic Nashville setting, Barlines certainly fits the bill.
In summary, while Barlines excels in atmosphere, cleanliness, and service, it falls short in the culinary department. It's a great spot for cocktails and enjoying a relaxed evening, but if you're looking for a meal that tantalizes your taste buds, you might want to consider other options in Nashville's rich...
