Miss Sunshine Nails — Local services in New York

Miss Sunshine Nails is a really mixed bag for me. I've supported this business since 2021 when their store used to be a small foldable table on the street in K-Town to their corner now in the food court, but my recent purchase has really solidified my opinion now. Although their designs are undoubtably extremely beautiful and always so on trend, I don't think I can justify buying nails from them anymore, especially with their clear drop in quality. My first set of nails I bought from them in 2021 were arguably higher quality than their nails now and actually still last me to this day, whereas the two sets I bought recently in Fall 2022 and this past week had gems falling off left and right, big and small (though I will note they were willing to fix them for me in store; however, I'm not from the area and couldn't go). Not to mention that their prices have risen drastically from around $35 to over $60. Yes, the designs are so pretty and yes, I get compliments all the time, but from a conscious consumer perspective, I want my press-on nails to last a long time, or at least longer than a normal acrylic/gelx set, especially!! if I'm paying that much. I don't ever leave reviews but I honestly wish to see better from this store because I love that they make such beautiful nail sets like theirs more accessible to everyone and I love their owner's story. I've also never had a custom set from here, so I can't vet if their quality is any better but quality should be equal in their premade sets regardless. If they could maybe address to their audience this problem and acknowledge that they've fixed it by attaching their gems with a stronger glue or cover with gel, I would 100% without a doubt buy from them again. I recommend going in person if you really need nails for an occasion. I placed an order on December 6th, and it looks like it won’t be here by Christmas Eve. In their email they stated that the nails would be ready before Christmas, but they did not say it would be at my home by then (I live in Manhattan as well). For that reason I have to buy Christmas nails somewhere else while waiting for these nails (that I most likely would have to save for next Christmas). Also, I placed the order as soon as they announced that they got Christmas nails in their story on December 6th, and didn’t expect to not receive them by Christmas time. I was definitely one of the first few people to place the order when they posted their story. BUT, their nail quality is AMAZING, and my friends have commented thinking I got them done at a salon. That’s why I would still do business with them, but not online if I really need nails for a special occasion (I’ll only purchase online when I don’t necessarily need them right away). Located in Food Gallery 32, I first found out about this shop when I stopped by for lunch around the time they first opened up! I was a bit hesitant at first as I never really shopped for/bought press on nails beforehand but the staff there were so patient and walked me through every step to ensure what size fit me the best and what styles I was into, as well as the process on applying them.

Though I only travel to the city on the weekends as I’m from Jersey, they ensured me that whenever I would need a new set I could always DM them on their instagram page (this was before they launched their website) and they would be able to ship out a new set or have it ready for pick up whenever I was nearby. They’re customer service is really quick and efficient and soooo helpful.

As of today, I have already purchased 4 sets since I found out about their shop and currently have two more on the way! They always have new designs and styles to try and range from so many sizes and even offer customs as well. I will continue purchasing from here for long lasting handmade beautiful nails for affordable prices and highly recommend for everyone else to try. 😊
