This guy (long blond hair) was totally rude (3 times!) to a group of kids in my family that were trying to shop their yesterday.
First my niece found a box of something that was unmarked and generally asked the crowd of us, including him, what the price was. We couldn't find it so we all looked at him and he said he was wondering why she didn't ask him. She was asking everyone, you included. You were standing right in front of her at the counter.
Second two of them were ready to check out so they walked up to the register he was standing at and set the stuff down. He simply walked away down to the other end of the counter, without a word, and stood down there. 30 seconds later they are still waiting patiently when he yells out to them, I'm over here now bring your stuff if you want to check out, I'm not using that register. Ok guy, I guess most of your customers are mind readers?
Then when they get there, and these two young girl are getting their vacation spending money out to pay he asks if they were together or separate. They so separate and he says, 'Of course you are'. My 10 year old niece asked if they did something wrong. So we had to explain she interacted perfectly and he must have been having a bad day as some people do sometimes.
However, you were overboard dude. You were standing doing nothing when we got there and while we were there. No reason to act bothered. We didn't expect you to turn cartwheels we were dropping a couple 20s in your store but there was NO reason for rudeness. Especially to a group of young girls...
Read moreAs it was our last day of Vacation we decided to drive to Old Mill to kill some time before our check in at The Red Roof Inn on August 5th. Our first stop was The Candy Kitchen. As we walked through the doors I took a look around and could hear "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka playing in my head. The selection is absolutely one of the best in the Smokies! From Candy Apples, To Fudge, To Chocolate Covered Twinkies they have something for everyone but what really stood out is that they have Chocolate Covered Bacon.....yes you heard me right CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON!!!! We ended up leaving with Peach Gummy Rings, A box of Taffy, A Chocolate Covered Twinky, A Truffle, 3 pieces of Chocolate Covered Bacon of course and because of their promotion we left with a pound and a half of fudge! We were a little disappointed that they didn't have any of The Harry Potter Butter Beer in stock but hopefully on our next visit they will! Money very well spent! I absolutely recommend visiting The Candy Kitchen and trying out the sugary...
Read moreDon’t expect much as far as service. It seems they’re understaffed and not very concerned about customers. When I visited the first time there was a large family putting in a large order with one woman. The only other person working was very slowly packaging candies. The whole time I was there, standing close to her and very obviously needing assistance I don’t think she even noticed me. Eventually, another large family came in and the other one still wasn’t finished placing their order. I gave up and left.
I returned about an hour later, close to closing. They were already covering the fudge. They seemed quite ready to be done.
I wish the staff were better about greeting people upon entering the shop and making us feel welcome. I certainly didn’t feel that way.
I was really hoping to sample and purchase some of their fudge. But the vibe just made me uncomfortable...
