These folks are awesome! My husband has a silver cross pendant that is very important to him for sentimental reasons. The ring that attaches the pendant to the chain had worn through from years of love an needed repair. I originally took it to Zales in Tanger because we had done business with them before (gold jewelry though) and figured they would do nice work. So I dropped it off and they said it would cost around 100$ to fix it and clean it up really nice. I thought the price was steep but I was willing to pay it because the pendant means so much to my husband. After about an hour they called me back and said that they couldn't work on it because it was stainless steel (which it's not) and they suggested American Jewelry. I am so happy they did. I had driven by the place many times and never thought to go in. The staff was all very friendly and courteous. They tested the peice before I left and confirmed that it was sterling silver (don't know how they got steel at Zales) and said it would take 35$ and a few business days to fix it. The repair looks very nice and they polished it up for us. American Jewelry will be our first stop for our next jewelry purchase or repair. I highly recommend...
Read moreIf I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I came into this store in a complete panic after my husband broke his glasses. He has very bad vision, and we couldn’t get an eye appointment until June. I had already been turned away by several places around town, some even rude, simply because it “wasn’t what they do.”
But then I found these lifesavers. Russ and his coworker welcomed me with kindness, compassion, and a genuine willingness to help—even though glasses aren’t typically in their wheelhouse. They didn’t hesitate for a second. They jumped right in and fixed the frame so my husband could see and get back to work. That alone made a world of difference for our family.
To top it off, they had their sweet dogs in the store, which made my young son’s day. He played happily while I waited, which was such a blessing during a stressful moment.
I can’t thank or recommend this place enough. They turned a desperate situation into one of hope. These men are absolute gems, and their store is...
Read moreDisappointing indeed. Visiting from Nashville, my husband and I surprised each other with nice watches for Christmas. After reading website & reviews, we chose to make the drive to American Jewelers. Just needed a few links removed. Upon walking in, they’re were 4 employees just standing around - with NO customers. We were rudely told they were “booked” until after Christmas. Ironically, we went to B & R Jewelers afterwards, (who actually had several customers), and were promptly accommodated. Even found a gorgeous Tree of Life diamond necklace! The simple truth is, we didn’t buy our watches there, so we were turned away. Personally wouldn’t recommend, considering their website (see pic) made it sound like a breeze. UPDATE: Upon their snarky response, I took away a star, searched their feedback to other “less than perfect” reviews, and well… Enough said. *You’ll see the majority of my reviews are 5 star; as a local guide- I love giving positive,...
