We've been wanting to try Pirilo forever because it's always packed- which has to mean good, right- so we walked to the cozy, open-air restaurant in Ocean Park on Friday evening and were surprisingly seated within a few minutes. While it was very muggy outside and our table was tiny and quite close to our fellow diners, the food & atmosphere absolutely made up for it. We didn't try the specialty drinks (that look interesting), but did indulged on some of the best cheese sticks I've maybe ever had. Huge chunks of freshly fried mozzarella that were literally to die for- and so filling we had to take our pizza to-go. (And because we were sweating profusely and just a little too cramped...) I wasn't that hungry once we got home, but even luke-warm, the pizza was SO good!!! My husband proclaimed it to be the 'best pizza he's ever had'- which is huge from a pizza snob like him- and I have to agree.... I forgot the name of our choice, but we substituted pink vodka sauce for the alfredo + thinly sliced sausage (Canadian bacon-ish), garlic, onions & fresh cheese that was truly amazing! 🤤💕🍕🙌 If you're not afraid of lively, outdoor neighborhood dining with no ocean view or breeze (which is tough, especially in the heat of September) this place is an absolute must! We're still stuffed but cant wait...
Read moreI went at "Perilo Pizza Rústica", by recommendations by a friend. I've said the night was asking for a good slice of pizza like the ones I'm used to have have in New York City. The restaurant has the look of a " Art Decor ", in all his ambients with a decoration of, many post cards hanging from the ceiling, of different places, cities and countries. Very good atemosphere an relaxed place . The waitress was very nice, and even tried also to speak to me , in my native tongue, (Portuguese). We had as appetizers some empanadas in the Argentina style. Very different from the style we have in Brazil. Was good, but was little bit salted. My son had as main course, some Skirt fillet and Julianne french fries. The Skirt fillet was fine for me. But the Julianne french fries were Extremely Salted. Compromised the taste of the Fries. I ordered my pizza half 🍕 was 7 cheeses , and the other half 🍕 was called "pecado, what means sin". The dough were not the greatest like I'm used to eat in NYC, but was ok, and probably because of a mixture of bacon, ground beef, salami, and ham , was little bit salted for me. I liked the place, just next time I will ask for them to hold a little bit in the salt because I have high...
Read moreMy father and I chose to eat dinner here on our first night in Puerto Rico considering it was close by the AirBnb (7:30pm). Upon arrival we requested a table for 2 and instead of sitting inside bc the A/C was blasting we decided to sit outside. The waiter sat us down and told us someone would be right with us. After 15 minutes we did not receive a menu nor a waiter. I got up and requested two menus from the bartender and said we didn’t get anything when we sat down he assured us that our waiter will be with us shortly. Maybe 3 minutes later someone comes by and asked us what we would like to drink, we ordered a beer and water. Our order was then taken (7:50ish pm) we figured it would’ve taken approximately 35 minutes. Our waiter came to our table and told us they’re working on our food now (8:25 pm) and he came again around 8:40 to tell us they lost our order so it’ll be a little while longer. Other people began coming in after us who then received their orders (8:40 pm). Needless to say we left (after paying for our drinks) shortly before 9pm , it was ridiculous that if we stayed, the we would’ve waited almost 2 hours long for a salad with breaded chicken breast, along with rice with...
