Went here with my family. It took us 45 mins to be able to order our food. When the food started coming out, it came out one plate at a time so people had to awkwardly start eating their food. Then my dad's plate was given to another table by the waitress on accident. When we asked why his food was taking so long, she lied and said the chef got confused and messed up the order. We know she lied because the manager came over later to explain what happened not knowing the waitress already made up a lie to us about it. Did the waitress apologize at all, ever, once? No. The unconventional sangria options may as well be sparkling wine juice. The passion fruit sangria was nothing even close to a sangria. And while I'm nitpicking, they serve imperial stouts here in the same glasses as IPAs and ales. Imperial stouts are not served in the same quantity as other beers because it's extremely thick and heavy, also high in alcoholic percentage. It's supposed to come in a glass closer in quantity to a serving of wine. Not a good look for a place promoting itself as an expert in beers to mess up something so trivial. You can't just serve a bunch of different beers and call yourself a tap house. You have to be an expert in beers, through and through.
TL;DR: horrendously slow service on a night that wasn't that busy. All options are very highly priced for the serving sizes. Waitress gave my dad's food to another table and lied about it. The flavored sangria is closer to alcoholic juice tea. This place serves a lot of different beer but they seemingly don't know much about all varieties. And all of this would have been a lot more bearable if the waitress had apologized just once. For the food taking forever, for messing up my dad's order by giving it to the wrong table, for lying about what happened. A few other mistakes were made but if she had apologized once, it could've saved that whole experience. One and done, to...
Read moreStumbled into El Tap on Calle Loíza with my husband, and it felt like walking into a love letter to Puerto Rican craft beer. The tap list? Stacked with local brews—just the best of what the island has to offer. Whether you’re into a crisp lager or something hoppier, there’s something for everyone.
The food menu? Thoughtfully curated—just enough options to complement the drinks without overwhelming you. Every bite hit the spot. But what really makes El Tap shine is the vibe. It’s the kind of place where the service feels effortless, the music sets the mood, and you lose track of time in the best way. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to unwind in San Juan, this...
Read moreA recent opened, hot place to visit, while on the Loiza street, recommended for tasting and enjoying a well varied assortment of draft or tap beer types as it is their speciality, over 50-60 if I don't recalll wrong. It is a bit pricey but it relates to the quality of the products and the good ambiance, if you know what I mean. I rounded to 5 my rating of 4.8 stars, as it gets crowded easy and noticeable noisy. There is no reserved parking area, although self parking is available on the front and nearby streets, but that is true for most business at the Loiza street. Getting there via...
