Whoever is answering the phone on Thanksgiving this year escalated things very rapidly and was very rude when I was politely asking normal questions.
I called about renting boots and was told I could get cheaper prices online (thanks! Helpful advice). I looked online and found I needed to reserve at least 24 hours in advance. Since I was reserving for the next day, this wasn't going to work. I called.back. Here's the transcript of the call as accurately as I can remember:
Me: Hello Clerk: Hello, how can I help? Me: I just called in and was told to look online for ... Clerk: Yeah, nobody gives a s*... How can I help you Me: Excuse me, are you talking to me? (I thought he was saying that to somebody else since it didn't make sense) Clerk: Yes. Me: Why are you talking to me like that? (genuinely confused, not angry) -- Clerk hangs up --
I understand it's a bummer to work on Thanksgiving but this was rude to the point of being confusing. Clearly I'm not going to spend money here.
We called another of the many places that rents out equipment and they were polite and professional. I feel so much better supporting local businesses that treat their customer well, with basic respect...

My son has unusual feet with very high arches and insteps. We have struggled for years to find ski boots that he can wear without pain. This year he was unable to fit in to ski boots at all that were not way too big. It was bad enough that we didnāt know if he would be able to ski.
Mike Torres not only found the proper size boots my son could fit into but was able to pad and adjust the boot so it was comfortable and tight. This not only enabled my son to ski comfortably but the boots fit properly so he could ski to the best of his ability and didnāt have to contend with sliding around in an outsized boot.
I can not tell you how many times we have tried to find boots that fit this well. Never have we had ski boots fit this well.
As my son said, it was a āmiracleā that saved our vacation.
Again, I write this review out of pure appreciation for a ski shop and expert in Mike Torres whose work truly deserves the credit.

Just wanted to let you know that Cody has been absolutely incredible to us. My girlfriend and I came to aspen for the first time a few days ago and we needed to find everything for her, from boots to skis to googles. I went to every single store in the village mall and spoke with the sales reps at all of them about what they would recommend for her. After speaking with Cody for 5 minutes it was obvious that we werenāt going anywhere else. His knowledge, helpfulness, and service were leagues above every other store that we visited.
