Incline Ski Shop Snowmass — Local services in Snowmass Village

On 4/8/23 around 3PM I rented a snowboard from Incline Ski Shop Snowmass, along with two sets of skis for my kids. We were the only ones in the rental area. He set up the snowboard for me, regular stance, a little narrower than it was set. I took the board, used it the next day, 4/9. I got a call from the shop & the person told me I took the wrong board & mine was at the Base Village. I explained that I took the board I was given & it was the only one there.

He told me he was coming to pick up the board I had & I had to find the other board at the Base Village. I explained I did not even know what it looked like & that it would not be set up for me.

He then showed up at my condo & demanded entry to get the snowboard. I did not let him in. He apparently called the police, as did I. The police contacted the shop & the police found the other snowboard at the Base Village & brought it to me & took the one that was given to me. The board they left had my name on it – but it was NOT the board they gave me. It’s stance wasn’t even mine. Tomorrow I will return this board that does not fit me, return the two sets of skis and go to a reputable ski shop. I will never ever do business with...

I have been taking groups skiing in Colorado (Keystone, Copper, Breck, Winter Park, Crested Butte, Beaver Creek, Durango/Purgatory and Snowmass) for 20+ years. In every trip one of the more difficult items is getting rentals for everyone and organizing pick up for 75+ people. Incline is the only rental place that is and has been prepared for our arrival and had enough staff to accommodate our groups, and that includes the other major rental spot at Snowmass Village/Mall.

The owners John, Tim, and Dan and their staff are extremely easy to work with and very laid back. They are highly knowledgeable and are able to get you set up in the right gear for not only your ski level/ability but also get you the right gear for how you prefer to ski/board. If you are advanced enough they will even get you the right equipment for the conditions you will be skiing.

When we ski Snowmass we stay at the Crestwood, which has one of the Incline satellite shops. This is super convenient for us since they store your skis and boots for us for free over night, so there is no awkward walking in your boots.

We’ve been going to Snowmass for almost 35 years and have been renting from Incline in the Snowmass Mall since the beginning. We ski for only a week each year and really want quality equipment and service, since it’s our only skiing for the year. The Incline team are the absolute best and we are greeted every year like family. Every person who has helped us is knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. We reserve our skis on their web form every year prior to arriving and get a discount doing it this way. When we arrive, they know we’re coming, and they have it all organized; the whole process is quick and easy and we are out on the slopes in no time. I recommend renting their Demo package if you’re serious about good equipment and comfort. Sometimes we want to change boots or skis depending on conditions or feel, and the Incline team is great in making adjustments and getting us in new equipment.
