It's okay. Always too many people. They need another pool.
I'm updating my review February 2024. My previous review was from a few years ago.
Since my last visit this hotel has gone way downhill. I will say the staff was really good and easy to work with for the most part in person. But I had an issue and after I checked out I tried to get someone to talk to me about it and no one got back to me.
We had a room and I liked it it was clean and decent but I decided to ask how much it would be to move to an oceanfront room. They told me the difference in price and I decided to do that. This was the first room we were in everything seem to work okay but there was a lot of black flakes in the tub I'm assuming from the jacuzzi, but we didn't use it. We left everything in that room as it was room 211 and moved on to our next room which was 201A. The suite was very nice. It was different from the other and we were pretty satisfied with it when we first got there. After we went out to dinner and came back there was a lot of noise out by the pool. There was about 20 girls out in the pool and I guess they were screaming because it was so cold. It was still early so we let that go. We decided to turn on the TVs except they wouldn't work. My husband and I had to try to figure out how to work either TV and he ultimately won in the race lol after about an hour we figured out all you had to do was set it to TV and hit the up channel but it would have been nice to cut on the TV and have it work. I would like to also mention that every time I check into a Marriott hotel I'm able to just connect to Netflix or whatever I would like to watch. They don't have this option here. It's kind of disappointing because they're offering this is a timeshare.
Moving on after the TV debacle we ordered some pizza and chilled out for a little bit and our little main living room. The girls were still outside screaming there were some boys out there playing too it was about 10:00 and we decided to go to bed. After about an hour we decided we were cold and went to turn on the heater in the bedroom side and it didn't work. I actually took a video of it it doesn't come on at all and my husband actually noticed that they had undone the bottom part of it already so he unplugged it and tried to hit the test reset button and neither button would work.
Needless to say it was a cold night and I didn't want to bother anybody at the front desk because I doubt anybody from maintenance was available anyway.
We grab some extra blankets from the closet and headed out to sleep on the fold out on the couch. After all that room had heat. However, we are both above 200 lb and that just wasn't going to happen. That bed felt like I was literally laying on a wire rack.
So we went back to the bedroom and finally fell asleep around 12:30. At 1:30 we were awakened by loud screams of the girls, they were back in the pool area even though I thought the pool area was closed.
This went on and off until about 3:00.
We left early to go to Sunnyside our favorite place to get breakfast down there... I called and let them know we checked out and told them about the problems we had had in our room. I was assured someone would call and help us take care of maybe a portion of our bill. Monday rolled around nobody called, so I called and asked to speak with the manager and she said he was unavailable but she was making a note to have him call me on my phone. After he was done with the meeting. It is now Tuesday and I have not heard from them...
We had received a call around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night wanting to talk to us about possibly having a timeshare there. Well I would probably stay there again, because the staff was really great while I was there. I have no interest in having a timeshare and wouldn't even take the offer if it was free.

Read moreTLDR; Good views with clean rooms, great fitness center. However, don’t expect good customer service, don’t let them charge your card more than once at check in, and valet parking isn’t worth it. They get 2 stars. One for the fitness center, the other is for the clean rooms with a view.
For more - the good, the bad, and the ugly:
The Good: The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff definitely pay attention to detail when cleaning. The waterfront views are nice, and the appliances/kitchenette was well kept and a nice addition to the room. The bar staff downstairs were super friendly and attentive. The food was great and a good price. when available the Valet folks were very helpful and kind with good customer service. Immaculate fitness center for a hotel. I travel more than I’m home and this gym was packed with new equipment, a variety of weightlifting options, 17th floor ocean views, and cold towels for when you’re done.
The Bad: They sold me on the Valet at check-in. Stating it’s a quick service and if you call in advance, they’ll have your car ready. What they don’t tell you is that there would be no Valet overnight and no one in until 7a. When I had to leave every day at 6:45, the front desk had to go hunt down my key and I had to go get my car myself out of the garage (which the front desk guy in the morning was always super apologetic and kind). They did refund me the days I had to do that, so honestly no sweat, but don’t sell me on a service you don’t actually offer. Some of the amenities lacked cleaning and upgrades. My best example is the on-site laundry. I do appreciate how many are available (every other floor has a W/D). However, the one on my floor at least was filthy. The dryer wreaked of cigarettes and even had cigarette butts in the lint trap. Not expected at a “non-smoking hotel.”
The Ugly: Customer service at check-in was sub-par at best. They only ever have 1 person at the customer service counter so a line can back up quickly. The person checking me in was borderline rude and had zero customer service skills. When charging my card, they kept telling me “it’s not going through” although it said accepted on the card reader. I tried one card twice, then switched to another card. The woman working the front desk seemed to get frustrated with me that the cards weren’t “going through.” I finally put my foot down before the 7th swipe THANK GOD. Because they charged me the full price of the room three times, and put a deposit hold on my card three times. I showed the customer service rep my bank statements showing all of the transactions and she didn’t have a good resolution, but somehow it “went through” on the swipe before last. She said not to worry about the pending charges, now that the payment went through the others would cancel out. NOPE. The next day, those pending charges now posted and I’m out almost $3k more than what I owed on the room. They did nothing for me. They printed out a sheet showing the charges with a single room cost. I showed them my bank statements to explain how there is some error and how I’ve been charged multiple times. They told me to take it up with my bank. Now I have to wait for a fraudulent charge investigation which may take 6 months to get that money back.
I’m just grateful I wasn’t relying on that money for the remainder of my trip. Imagine saving up for this trip, only to have your hotel blow all your money at check-in and you’re eating ramen in your room because it’s all you can afford now. But, hey … the...
Read moreWe visted most recenlt mid-July 2023. We've been coming to this particular resort for over 10 years as family members have owned time shares here. Since we did not pay to stay I can not comment of cost or value. I was suprised to see that the hotel in recent years had once again switched hands and is now under the Hilton umbrella.
We stayed in a 2 bed room suite this time but have been in one of the penthouses mulitple times before. I noticed that this particular one did not have the booth seating that we had in the past for the dinning table. I like the chairs better as there is more room to move around. Mostly everything was how we remembered it. There was a issue with the curtains in one of the rooms as the shear side was missing from one of the sides. Since we were in a street facing window on one of the lower floors (3rd) this was a little annoying as people walking across the street could look directly into our room no problem. It was nice to have a full kitchen to cook meals in. It seemed well stocked with everything. The kitchen sink had very low water pressure for some reason. The tub showers had no problem with water pressure either. The wife wanted to take a hot bath in the jacuzzi tube and it filled up quickly and was hot, no problem. The jets in the tube worked great as well. We did notice that our room had the shampoo, conditioner and body gel mounted onto the shower wall and lotion mounted next to double vanity which was great! I always disliked those tiny disposable containers. We did notice that one of the other rooms other family was staying in on the upper floors didn't have that so it must be a random thing or perhaps they just haven't finished updating all the bathrooms yet.
The pools were how we remembered them. They weren't too crowded surprisingly when we were there. Towel service was nice and clean and seamless. Not sure how well they acutally track those towels. The water in the pools were nice and clean although there was signficant scale build up on some of the edges and in the indoor pool. We saw staff checking water conditions and posting them on signs around the pool which was a nice touch. Also staff skimming the pools early in the morning and late at night after the pools closed. The staff was nice and didn't kick us out of the pool at night when they were closing. They started with indoor pool. We got to go over to the oceanaire side and use their adults only pool and hot tub for a bit too while our kids stayed in other pool. There were a TON of flying bugs in the oceanaire building and it seems much warmer than in the ocean beach club building. Not sure what was going on their.
Parking was same as before across the street. We had a standard mini van with cargo carrier on top and fit inside no problems.
Location is always great as you can just walk down the boardwalk to many stores, resturants and entertainment venues. There is even a large playground on the beach right outside the resort. There beach access in right from the pool deck or you could go outside the main doors and walk down. There are showers to rinse your beach stuff with sand right inside of the gate. Even with this the pool in the evenings had significant amounts of sand at the zero entry side kids would play.
Overall would definiately visit again but as I mentioned earlier in the review, we were staying as guest of family members and therefore can not comment on...
