I stayed 2 nights in pull through site 14 at Buffalo Crossing RV Park. I don’t know when the RV Park was built but it appears to be pretty new. I think there are more pull through sites than back in sites. Our site had a picnic table, 30 & 50 amp electric service, water and sewer hook up. There are no fire rings as campfires are not allowed. The sewer hook up is in wood framed concrete that slopes down to the sewer connection. If I screwed my sewer elbow into the connection then there was no room to connect the hose to the elbow because the concrete was in the way. It worked fine just stuck in the hole but the connection is designed to be screwed in. My neighbor’s connection was the same as I’m sure they all are. I think all of the pull through sites are set up so that your trailer connections are next to your neighbor’s picnic table. The area where you park your trailer is loose gravel and is difficult to maneuver a motorcycle on if you have one. All of the sites appeared to be level. I could unhook my truck and have enough room to walk between it and my 36’ 5th wheel but that was it, no extra room. It was easy to park and I would consider the RV Park big rig friendly. There is a nice laundry room and clean bathrooms with showers. We had good AT&T cell coverage. The park WiFi had 5.7 Mbps download speed the morning I checked it, which is pretty good for an RV park. West Yellowstone has plenty of gas stations, restaurants and two expensive grocery stores. Reservations were easy to make online. I had to shorten my trip dates and they were quick to refund me the difference. They gave me a Good Sam discount and they offer other discounts as well. If I were returning to Yellowstone I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The only negative is the road...
Read moreBuffalo Crossing RV Park is literally 5 minute drive from the West Yellowstone Park entrance. So convenient not to have to drive an hour just to enter the park. ||Yes, the RV spots are a little close, but this is a private RV park and they do have to make money, so they can fit a little more spots this way. It does not seem close because there is a little patch of grass and a composite wood patio deck where we put our chairs to sit. This gives a sense of privacy. The picnic table was composite and clean. The RV site is level and on landscape rocks so you are not tracking dirt into the camper. ||The bathrooms and laundry were some of the cleaning we have seen in an RV park. The IMAX theater next door has "concession store" which is way more than just a place to buy your popcorn, candy and soda for the movie. It is a big gift shop with quality items. This is also the place you buy bags of ice and turn in your coins you are given at check in for a free ice cream cone. (Really good quality ice cream.) As a bonus you also get a $20 coupon to spend in the concession store.||The people who run the RV park are SO FRIENDLY and helpful. ||It is on the edge of the town of West Yellowstone which is packed with restaurants, shops and bars/pubs. There are also different activities for families in town. ||I would DEFINITELY stay here again if ever back in West...
Read moreJust finished up a 2 week stay and it's a small quiet park right in downtown. Everything is within walking distance: souvenir shops, a grocery store and multiple restraunts. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry room are all nice and clean. Yellowstone Trading Post is in the same parking lot, and you get a $20 gift certificate at check in. There is also an IMAX theater in the same building which has a Yellowstone documentary, and a new release movie playing every day. The Yellowstone NP visitor center is 100 yards away as well and the rangers in there are a wealth of knowledge. It is also the closest RV park to the entrance of Yellowstone NP. There are no trees for shade, which can get hot in the summer, but Starlink performed excellent and we had great coverage for both Verizon and Tmobile.
There were only 2 cons to the entire experience. The gravel in the RV spots is thick/deep, and with the movement our RV leveling jacks would sink in every couple of days, and I'd have to relevel. The other is at the entrance/check in office there are A LOT of potholes. There is no way to avoid them when going in and out.
I would recommend staying here, and if we visit Yellowstone again, this is where...
