The location was very convenient and we booked it after seeing good reviews. But it turned out the service was horrible. First of all, for a family of four traveling, we had large pieces of luggage. The owner put us on the second floor, but the property has NO ELEVATOR! I would have appreciated it if the owner had communicated with us earlier that the property has no elevator. I would have chosen to ask for a room on the first floor.
The second night we realized more rooms on the first floor were occupied and didn't pay attention until shower time. By the time our third person took a shower, the water became cold and even stopped in the middle of showering. I called the owner and he said no one else was complaining. That was because no one else lived on the second floor! I got so mad from his reply. Does no one else was complaining equals no problem from my room? Did I call at 11 p.m. for fun? No apology during the phone call and no solution was offered. I got angry and kept pressing for a solution and he said we would have to move everything to a different room in the middle of the night. Totally not helping! He even yelled on the phone, "So do you want to move to another room?"
It was a very bad experience. I won't...
Read moreTao's Inn is in a quiet area close to everything in West Yellowstone. The room was attractive and spotlessly clean. As other reviews have mentioned, it is definitely a bit cramped for a family of four, but we weren't there very much because we were always in the park. ||||The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning kept us cool on warm days. There is no laundry in the building, but I recommend Little Ducklings Laundry, right around the corner. You can do your own laundry there, or drop off/ pick up. There was no space in the room for eating, but there is a little table with some chairs on the grassy area outside the rooms. There's also a hammock right next to that, if you want some outdoor relaxation. We found the property to be quiet and peaceful at all times of day.||||Tao's Inn was a great base for exploring Yellowstone. We'd get up early, pick up pre-ordered lunches at Ernie's, and be into the park in no time. The location was perfect for us-- away from the noise and bustle of the center of West Yellowstone, but so close to the park entrance and anything we needed. Parking was included, and was right next to the building. We would...
Read moreI very seldom write a review be it good or bad, but this one I felt that I had to write. Just before I was ready to climb in bed I pulled back the comforter and noticed that there was not top sheet. I wondered if they had just forgotten to put in on, but then checked the other bed. No top sheet on that one either. Consequently I slept with no covering until I finally succumbed to cold and threw the dirty comforter over my shoulders. I had never slepted in a motel that had no top sheet. I like a little protection against who had slept there the night before. I texted Freddie and asked him about it, and he said that they complied with Montana Law. Just out of curiosity I looked up Montana’s Law’s on lodging with that of specific interest. It said that motels should have a top sheet that turns down over the top covering 6”. Since there was not top sheet it made it impossible to turn down something that wasn’t there. |It was about a hundred bucks less than anywhere else in West Yellowstone, but I will definitely spring for the extra money for a little extra...
