Beachside Ice Cream Parlor and Cafe Restaurant — Restaurant in Wildwood

We got ice cream and it really was delicious. My problem was with how the older lady (manager, owner?) was treating her employees. These young girls looked so stressed and upset and the lady was just constantly berating them in front of the customers. Did anyone else notice? I don't know. Maybe I was paying closer attention because I know how that feels, but it was very upsetting to hear the whole time I'm sitting there eating these girls getting scolded for this and that so loudly. At one point the lady was like "You're done, get over there" or something like that. The bathroom was out of soap and normally I'd tell someone there but I didn't even want to because I didn't want to get any of the employees in trouble. No one looked happy to work there. They were very behind orders and disorganized and I'm sure getting scolded at every other minute wasn't helpful. If handling both breakfast and ice cream is too much, then only do one. I wish I could leave less then one star. The food was amazing. And the young employees working there were also amazing. Customer service was great. But the (owner/manager) older guy was absolutely awful. I’ve never in my life seen someone treat their employees that way. Just berating and degrading them the whole time in front of everyone. It was absolutely disgusting. At one point I pulled the cashier aside and apologized to her that she had to deal with that. Orders were backed up, employees obviously doing the best he can, and instead of helping get the orders out, he continued to just berate them. Have been going to wildwood for years now and never stopped in thinking it was just like some of the other boardwalk ice cream places that keep coming out with fancy over priced menus but I was so wrong.

The portions are massive and the ice cream was so good! My boyfriend got a mega ice cream cookie sandwich Friday night that he talked about all weekend, and we were back again by Sunday because it was that good.
