Beautiful cozy inn with delicious breakfast(The coffee!!), picnic boxes & intimate dinners, A haven for gluten allergies!
We stayed in Oakwood room with our dog.
It felt like they had thought out every single detail. everything was personalized and done for you! The place looked like it was recently renovated no complaints! usually I would always have some ! with lots of closet space in the washroom. The bed was too good I don't sleep very well in a new bed but this time I was too comfortable and slept like a baby. The floors were spotless.
They had prepared the room with bedsheets with paws which was cute and if you have a dog they would provide all the essentials like Miracle Pro Spray with paper towel, dog bed, bowls, toys, chews , even soft blankys, treats, you name it and they have it !!!! It was nice to have a separate entrance to take the dog in and out. Patio area had a leash mounted on the wall a dream come true for a dog parent. Only slight hiccup I had was room felt slightly smaller with our dog as he sleeps in his crate but again we had no trouble and was no close to a deal breaker.
I loved the common area such a Christmasy festive feel to the whole place it was beautifully decorated better than Home Alone set up!. Lots of CDs around, we ended up watching a movie at night in our room.
Now the best part. The food and the Hosts !!! are exceptional.
Debbie is a lovely person and Mark is fun and chatty. They made us feel like home!!!! They are in it because they love it. It feel too special being there!! I have missed seeing family and the small talk during Covid for a while now and speaking to them felt like a break from all thats happening! (FYI - we were socially distanced and had masks).
Now the food. Breakfast is included, we added lunch (Picnic boxes) and dinner at their place as I have gluten allergies and because they cook so good :D
Breakfast was too fancy. normally if it is included in the stay I never expect more than a doable. Great coffee, a starter (a gluten free donut for me) I was sold right there !, followed by parfait (Gluten free for me) , omelette/ the Breakfast tacos. Both Delicious! My husband loved his Gluten dishes way too much and to this day talks about it over dinner.
Picnic boxed again well thought out. They even gave us a blanket to sit on :))) Grand canyon Train station is 10minute walk and a must must do. The day we took the train we got the picnic boxes and thats all we needed to carry. We picked a nice quiet spot in the canyons and enjoyed our meal!
I have gluten allergies and this was first place I would get Desserts, Breads, even Baguette. Mark loves experimenting and honestly best home cooked food I had that I would usually miss by the end of our trips. Clean but yummy!!!!
Intimate dinners were my favorite time of the day.
Their coffee don't even get me started. I was so content with that coffee that I realized I cant have that bitter stale coffee at the stores anymore. Mark gave us lots of helpful tips and we finally nailed coffee at home!
This was the best getaway I could have imagined in these times. We will definitely visit again. :)) Thank you...
Read moreCouldn’t leave Sheridan House fast enough after a miserable 1-night stay. Shortly after arriving, host Debbie’s greeting turned into indifference/rudeness after I expressed disappointment in the next day’s breakfast choices. Instead of the famous “Sheridan pastry” shown on the website, we were given choices of radish & broccoli omelet (super weird combo), S’more waffle (chocolate and graham crackers are too sweet for my morning thing), and scoops of Greek yogurt with fruit. I am vegetarian and do not consume eggs or yogurt. My carnivore traveling partner is a simple guy and had no interest in the huevos rancheros option. They require the breakfast menu be returned whether you choose anything or not. We chose nothing and when returning the form, ran across husband, Mark, who we found to be distant and cold. Super obvious from their behavior and conduct that we had offended them which made us feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable throughout the remainder of our stay. During check-out, I attempted to discuss and apologize to Debbie. She continued her meltdown and stated that it was my fault that she was not able to make our stay special because I stated I was vegetarian when I reserve the room but did not mention that I did not consume eggs or yogurt. I made the reservation 6 months out. Received several emails from them trying to upsell their January-published dinner menu but not 1 question regarding breakfast. Williams is the gateway to the Grand Canyon. Breakfast is served between 8-9 a.m. – too late for folks wanting to get on the road. If you are taking the train to the Canyon, luggage needs to be checked by 8:30 a.m.; boarding at 9:00. The Sheridan offers a “bagged breakfast” which is subpar for a B&B. Gave us the feeling that they don’t want to be bothered with executing breakfast. Their “commercial kitchen” is in the garage area; garage doors were often seen half open. We loved their dog “Jessie James”, but our stomachs turned watching him exit the kitchen area. The “Cottonwood Room” has 2 beds: Debbie was quick to point out that it was also the smallest room making our choice feel inadequate. Towels felt hard and looked worn. Robes looked old and used. Cookie left in room was a nice touch; type of ingredients wasn’t listed so we didn’t touch them. WD-40 on the door hinges and piece of tape over the air conditioner light that shines constantly on the beds would be simple improvements. B&Bs vary like a vegetarian diet – lots of choices - the Sheridan was a...
Read moreThis place is worth every penny and second of the time you spend here! For our first Bed and Breakfast/Craft Lodging experience we couldn't have asked for a better place to go, and Mark and Debbie and their team have set the bar extremely high! Mark and Debbie were amazing and such attentive hosts that make you feel welcomed immediately upon getting there. My wife and I were blown away with their hospitality and genuine care they took to make us feel welcomed and accommodated during our stay, as if we were guests who have stayed multiple times prior even though it was our first time at the Sheridan House Inn. We were recommended here by my parents who have stayed multiple times and love this place, and we are now right there with them. The location is perfect whether you want to go out and explore the surrounding areas, hit up the Grand Canyon, or just want to stay in and relax in luxury, and the look from the exterior driving up was beautiful!
The food is to die for! Mark gets his Gordon Ramsay on in that kitchen and made some of the best meals I've had in a long time (and I work in a fire station with some great cooks so I appreciate great food lol). You won't be disappointed with anything you choose when you're here! We had dinner twice in their beautifully setup and decorated dining room and had breakfast delivered to our room each morning, which was a nice and delicious way to kickstart the mornings.
Our room was perfect for a weekend getaway just wife and husband and allowed us to just reconnect with each other away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and we valued that intimate time so much! The birthday add ons they offer were beautifully setup in the room to surprise my wife and was exactly what I was hoping for. The bed was comfy, the bathroom and shower were beyond nice, the entertainment options were more than most places you go and stay at for a vacation (way more options here at Sheridan than most AirBnBs I've stayed in for sure), and the private outside porch with hot tub was icing on the cake! They definitely have thought of practically everything to go into a room to make your stay the best it can be!
My wife and I literally were already planning our return halfway thru our trip staying here, and we can't wait to come back in a few months! You won't regret staying here and becoming loyal guests for Mark and Debbie and their team! ONE BILLION PERCENT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE AT THE SHERIDAN...
