I stayed at La Belle Maison twice since I started and ended my Vietnam trip in Hanoi, and this hotel was truly one of the best experiences I had during all my years of travelling. Perfect location in front of Hoàn Kiếm Lake and above a 24/7 Circle K store, which was really convenient for buying snacks and drinks. The hotel facilities are excellent – clean, spacious, and well-maintained. Breakfast was high quality and generous while overlooking the lake, and there's even a rooftop area with the same lake views where you can relax and bring your own food and drinks as well.
What made this place truly special was the incredible staff. Vincent seriously went above and beyond during my stay and was so caring and attentive. In the first part of my trip, I had made a huge mistake with my booking and only realised too late that I had missed an extra night. Even though the hotel was fully booked and I was stuck outside of Hanoi (went on a day tour to Cát Bà Island), Vincent was so kind and understanding, helping me find other hotels nearby, even though it was completely my fault. When I finally arrived back, feeling emotional and stressed, Vincent and Thor welcomed me with a cold drink and took their time to make sure I was okay. They had carefully packed all my things and called the other hotel to ensure my stay there was all set, and helped carry all of my belongings to the new hotel. Since I was going to Sa Pa the next day at 5.30am, they even prepared breakfast for me to take. When I came back on my last day, I was feeling unwell and Vincent consistently checked in, bought me medicine from the pharmacy, helped me book with their spa around the corner, and even made me fresh ginger tea multiple times to help me recover.
I have never experienced such levels of customer service and care like this and felt so safe and supported as a solo female traveller. I'm truly grateful for the staff for making my time in Vietnam so memorable, highly recommend...
Read moreLa Belle Maison—French for "The Beautiful House"—truly lives up to its name. This charming boutique hotel is full of character, starting with its quirky entrance through a Circle K convenience store. With only six rooms, it feels intimate and personal. We stayed three nights in a lakeside-facing room with a balcony, and it was a treat to soak in the vibrant street life below.
Yes, it’s noisy—but that’s expected in the Old Quarter. The sounds quieten around 11pm, and as a light sleeper, I was fine with earplugs. The room was spacious, and the oversized copper bathtub was stunning. While the toilet area didn’t quite match the room’s elegance, everything was spotlessly clean. I did yoga on the floor daily—no dust at all.
Important to note: there’s no elevator, so if you're not mobile or dislike stairs, this place may not be for you. Similarly, if you're sensitive to noise, the lively surroundings might be overwhelming.
The location is unbeatable. On weekends, the area around Hoàn Kiếm Lake is closed to traffic and fills with locals enjoying the space. My partner jogged there every morning at 5am and caught the sunrise—absolutely lovely.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, served each morning on the rooftop. And a big thank-you to Vincent, the manager—kind, helpful, and always attentive. Nothing was ever too big or too small for him to assist with.

Read moreLa Belle Maison was a wonderfully warm welcome into Hanoi. Our first hotel upon arriving, we were graciously greeted on the street by front desk Vincent. He assisted us with our bags and handled our check-in, then brought over a welcome drink and a fruit platter. After that, he showed us around our room, carefully explaining all the amenities and everything the hotel had to offer.
Located above a Circle K convenience store, the hotel is centrally located walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake. Top points for convenience and amazing views. We booked the Junior Suite with a Lake View, which came with a balcony that faced the lake.
Breakfast was wonderful - a full spread at their rooftop restaurant overlooking the lake, with a wide assortment of local fruits, fresh juice, breads, and local fare (upon order).
While the hotel was already amazing, what blew me away was Vincent’s amazing hospitality. From days even before our trip, he offered assistance with airport transfer and transportation to our next destination. Throughout the trip he was efficient and extremely helpful, recommending places to visit and eat, assisting us with liaison with our return transport to Hanoi, and ensuring that everything was up to standard.
Thank you for the wonderful stay, Vincent and the La Belle Maison team! Would definitely return if we were ever in...
