I needed to get some new shoes for work and had just the best shoe shopping experience when I went into the Cashel street store last Thursday. Store manager Jeff was the best ! Really efficient, helpful, chatty, attentive and incredibly knowledgeable, and not at all pushy. I tried on a number of different styles of shoes and sizes, and nothing seemed to be a problem to him. His manner was friendly, upbeat and down-to-earth. He gave me his time and undivided attention and seemed happy to ask all of my questions (I'm not a frequent shopper and often find decision-making hard!), he didn't mind my annoying questions and indecision. Based on all the above, I ended up buying not one but two pairs of shoes/boots! Jeff had recommended the Dr Marten Wonder balsam product to me but they were out of stock. Never fear ! Jeff and his colleague located the product at a different Platypus store (in Queenstown) and arranged for it to be delivered to my house and free of charge! Unbelievably it was in my mailbox the next day ! This was the cherry on top of the icing on the cake! Such great customer care and service. Definitely heading back. Read moreNo one greeted me when I walked in or asked if I needed help or a size so I walked around the store holding a shoe until I finished looking and had to go up and ask them for a size. There was no real interaction or chat. The guy that got me the size came out and just took them out of the box and said nothing, then put the shoes on the ground in front of me. I felt so awkward. Once I took the shoes off and put them back in the box. Still no words from the 2 workers. The guy was just chatting to his friend that was standing on the side of the desk. And Even though I actually liked the shoes and wanted them. I just walked out and said nothing, (neither did they), il go to another shop and buy them.
