My mom and I traveled in for the day. When we stopped in we were immediately greeted by both of the younger girls who were working. They were very sweet and explained the deals the store had that day, and told us we could try anything on. One of the girls was asking me some questions about one of my chihuahuas I brought in. I’m not sure what her name was but the older lady, presumably the manager came up and rudely told the associate “we’re not doing that” about her interacting with us and the dogs. She then told her she’d explain later. It was very embarrassing for the employee and my mom who was very interested in a couple of items around $300 each decided not to try them on or purchase them after the rude interaction. She then started barking orders at them.
If dogs were not allowed in the store the manager could have said so and we would have taken them out. The girls were actually being very smart by engaging with us and being kind and welcoming, and what the manager did was extremely off putting and caused us to leave.
I felt bad for the girls who were both sweet and professional the whole time. The manager/owner is lucky to have them as employees but I hope they can find somewhere else to work that appreciates them and treats them respectfully.

Yes, I am certain this was your store on Main St. in Annapolis. I will attach a picture I took after leaving the store so I could make the review later on. This is not about whether or not you like dogs. It’s about how rude you were to your employees in front of potential customers. This review is fair and it has everything to do with your...
Read moreThe most positive shopping experience I've had in years! We were greeted warmly at the door even though we do not look like the typical (aka wealthy) Annapolis shoppers. I knit so am familiar and love alpaca yarn products. It was total luxury to feel the wonderful alpaca knits in scarves, ponchos, and wraps even in 90 degree heat. We slowly ventured into the back room where coats and wraps and longer garments lived and our daughter found the most beautiful cape in the world. Elaine, the shop mistress, could not have been nicer and more positive with all our questions and comments and hesitancy. We purchased the cape in secret as a Christmas present for our daughter and Elaine arranged to have it shipped. The package arrived today with the sweetest note from her I've ever read. It will be a Christmas to remember, thanks to Elaine and those...
Read moreWhile in Park City for a ski holiday, we discovered this wonderful store. The website doesn't do it justice -- you must visit the store to see how beautiful the clothes are. The service and sales staff were excellent. They were very helpful showing us the various ways to wear the scarves, shawls and jackets. When I returned home, I had a couple of questions about my purchases and Zia (the owner) got right back to me each time. I'm looking forward to returning to Alpaca International during next...
