This salon does things that are unlawful and they are lucky they haven’t been sued by their client. J Gold is crazy to think it's acceptable to charge their clients 50% of a service fee for not canceling within 48 hours. I would have never given this salon permission to charge my credit card without my consent, or put my signature on paper that gave them access to my credit card. I have had the owner of the salon text me the day of my appointment to tell me that my stylist was sick. I wonder how much they would like me charging them customer inconvenience fee for 50% of what should have been my service and not canceling within 48 hours. I have never been informed of the new cancellation fee or policy prior to calling today to move my appointment. They have nothing posted in the salon to let clients know their new policy. After reading other reviews on this same issue, it turns out the fees are linked to the new check- in system. DO NOT PUT YOUR SIGNATURE ON THAT TABLET!! It's unlawful and every customer should be made aware of any contracts or new fees. They could be served with a lawsuit if they are not careful. I made it very clear on the phone today when speaking with Griffin. I did not give my consent to allow any charges for my credit card. In the state of Georgia, it's a form of identity theft that that involves taking another person's credit card information with out their permission. A person convicted of financial transaction card theft in Georgia can be charged with a felony. A fine up to $5,000.00 and prison term anywhere between one and five years, or both. If J Gold or any salon charges your credit card without or permission or consent, you can press charges and they can serve jail time. Know your laws and protect yourself. If you call J Gold to discuss the cancellation fees your more than likely going to be greeted by Griffin. He's an hourly employee who has no customer services skills. He was recently fired from the jerk store, but J Gold thinks he should be promoted him to salon manager. He has no mute button and is too dumb to realize that he should be nice to customer's who pay top dollar to have their done at J Gold salon. Griffin also specializes in long drawn-out bulling conversation that contain him asking you the same questions back. He will get upset procced to cancels all future appointments and tell you that you are no longer welcome at J Gold salon until you pay the fee. Don’t waste your time with this salon. Take your money elsewhere. I’m a single Mom who works hard to afford to get my hair done at J Gold. I will not tolerate being talked down to by some disrespectful hourly employee. My advice to J Gold is get a new salon manager who is respectful can explain new fees and is not a...
Read moreBEWARE: Harsh cancellation policy - rude manager.
As a small business owner myself, I hesitated to share this review. Given how cavalier the manager, Griffin, was about my experience I just couldn't hold back for the sake of others.
First, let me say that I've received great hair service from my stylist for the last two years. It wasn't until I was checking in for my color services this week that things went very array.
Since my last color service, two months ago, the checkin system at the salon has changed. The new electronic system prompted me to sign in with my information; then accept the cancellation policy.
Here's the kicker: The cancellation policy states that if no less than 48-hours notice is given for a missed appointment, the salon may charge you for 50% of the service price for services that would have been rendered. FIFTY percent. That's insane. And upon my findings in prior google reviews, I can see that they have assessed this fee to at least one client, charging her credit card.
Though the cancellation policy isn't all that new the requirement for me to formally acknowledge it is. I respectfully shared that I wasn't comfortable signing the agreement and explained my reasons why to no avail.
As we all know most last minute emergencies will transpire within 24-hours, such as a positive covid test, a sick child or flat tire. If the policy stated 24-hours instead of 48-hours, I'd have gladly signed the agreement. However, I find the existing terms to be highly unreasonable and owner-centric. As a woman who really looks forward to regular hair coloring/gray coverage, I can count on one hand how many times I've had to cancel a hair appointment in the last 15-years.
Lastly, to add insult to injury, I was told by the new manager that if I didn't sign the agreement they would "no longer be able to provide services to me". Truly the worst experience for someone who's been a devoted client at a luxury salon. I'm out and beyond disappointed.
Bottom line;...
Read moreThere should be a Zero Stars option for hair salons and the stylists that assault your hair to the point that the next salon you go to tells you that you should call the police for what they did to your head/hair - the owner is a racist xenophobe that will destroy naturally long beautiful brunette hair and will take all your money then scream at you insults to get out of her salon in front of everyone - even as she's claiming to be your friend. She destroyed so much of my hair Im pretty sure she caused me to have multiple strokes, I fell down concrete staircases after it and broke my foot so badly that I had to call off my wedding and haven't been able to work ever since, my family & I have lost billion dollar businesses while she continues to make tik tok videos and cackles like a witch making fun of the people she has harmed without any remorse, conscience, guilt, nor at bare minimum a sincere apology &/or refund. Worst Salon in this country & the most expensive! She will destroy your natural hair just to try to sell you her $10,000+ hair extensions & wigs, somebody should sue her & she should be thrown in prison, no wonder all her former hair stylists keep leaving her salon quickly and in the two decades I've known her she has to buy whatever friends she has now 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Going to her salon was the worst mistake of my life and I hope her bad karma comes back to her 10 fold in the form of Justice one day via our Federal...
