This was mine and my daughters first time here. We arrived 15 minutes early per the recommendation and after checking in we were told by the girl checking us in that she would come help us get our bike's setup prior to the start of class. She came into the class just as it was starting and the lights were already dimmed. She had 5 new people to help with bike setups in about 3 minutes. Not enough time. It should have been done while the lights were on and before the music started so people know the foundations around proper bike setup. I had been to a spin class several years ago so I knew there was a method to getting all the positioning correct which she used no method at all. My daughter is 5'10 and she had the seat so low that she would not have been able to spin the bike correctly. I had to tell her 3 times that the seat was not high enough. Jaidus was the instructor and emphasized throughout the class that proper form was important and that if your bike was not setup correctly it could lead to improper posture and an inability to do the exercises properly. I agree with him. But given that fact, they need to have the instructor and not the front desk worker here early enough to show people the proper way to setup their bikes and ensure that everyone's bike is adjusted correctly. During the class when people are improperly positioned is not the time to tell people their bike's may be setup wrong if they can not do an exercise properly. I have been to spin classes before and in the good ones the instructor makes sure to give a quick overview on how to position the bike correctly. Proper bike setup should be a requirement for all new customers. The bike is the foundation and tool for the class. It determines whether a rider is able to do the exercises correctly but more importantly proper setup prevents injury. The class was decent but Soul Cycle is a spin studio and they failed in an important area. The instructor should be there to instruct from beginning to end. Not just once the music turns on. Hopefully they will take this feedback to make improvements but I doubt it. Don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI found Soul Cycle due to an injury that I got a few weeks ago dislocating my shoulder. I am a cross fitter and was a little skeptical on trying this sport. BUT man oh man I was not disappointed I have taken every instructors class but 1 so far and they are all amazing. They guided me through the different movements, they walk around, keep you motivated and encourage to keep coming back to get better. You couldnt ask for a better coaching staff. The facility is always clean the front desk staff are always helpful friendly smiles on there face. I am very picky when it comes to trying new people to coach me and they all get 100% satisfied. I will continue to grow in cycling even when i go back to crossfit. I read the reviews and I really feel like these guys wanted it to be there way and thats not the way classes work. Find your studio that suits you and your personality , but I dont agree with going somewhere once and giving them a 1 star review without giving them the chance to make up for mistakes or just realizing this studio is not a good fit for you
ANYWAY I love this place and the members are great as well. MUST TRY even if you are a newbie talk to them ask questions and they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Soul Cycle 3x while visiting Atlanta, as I wanted to give it a chance. First, my experience with the front desk staff - inconsistent experience. One of the attendants - male - just stood there and looked at me waiting for me to greet him first. Really? Note, there were one or two attendants there that seemed to be positive/helpful. Iād say 50/50 on positive versus dismissive/disconnected from the members.
I brought a friend on one of the rides - we both agree, an element of elitism existed by the staff. Which is a little comicalā¦itās a cycling studio. A place to sweat, workout.
The in-between - aka, the actual class. Good instructors. Different than the other cycling studios around town (and the country)ā¦.but good. But itās the beginning and the end that shapes the experience. Iād highly recommend SoulCycle conduct customer experience training in their Atlanta locationā¦.I mean, your mission is to bring āSoulā to your riders. Not to create a āclubā among...
