This review is for a facial with Joni.
If you're looking for a super posh spa experience where you pay for the environment, you might go elsewhere. If what you want is a relaxing and effective skin-soothing beauty treatment, performed with care by someone who is patient and kind, and truly believes in the products she uses and the service she is rendering, then All Star Massage and Spa is your place.
Joni took her time analyzing my skin and gathering information that would help her to deliver best results. Throughout the session, she explained what products she was using (mostly fruit based), informing me of key ingredients, and how each should be working, checking in with me about how my skin felt (that would be â Great!)
We also enjoyed an easy chat, which I'm sure she would forego if you preferred. For me, I found her interesting and a good listener, too. She shared recommendations for taking care of my skin, some of which I'll add to my 'lazy' routine. And she loves what she does: use her healing hands to make people feel comfortable and beautiful in their bodies.
Regarding the facilities of All Star Massage and Spa, it is situated in an unlikely location, what seems to be more of an office building. This is not a major operation, but rather an intimate, truly small business. The space is clean, quiet, restful and welcoming, everything I desire of a place where I want to carve out time for myself (and bonus, there's plenty of free parking). And oh, this is not a fake review, I really took my time to write this because Joni deserves five...
Read moreI HAD THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER WHEN I CALLED THE FRONT DESK TODAY!! When I was in the facility last week, I talked to a massage therapist Rachel (Rachel is a great massage therapist!) to schedule an appointment on Friday, but somehow this week on Wednesday I received an email saying I did not show up on Wednesday and I would be charged for a no show fee. I understand there might be a miscommunication there, so I called the front desk today to discuss about it and see if we can work things out. She straight forward told me that it was my problem not managing my own schedule and refused to listen to me when I try to explain to her that there was a miscommunication. She also had this attitude that it's only 25 dollars, why can't you just pay it and stop the conversation. Seriously??? Jumping into conclusions and assuming that is your customers fault without listening don't seem like a very wise business choice. I had good experience with Rachel for sure, but your front desk may need some more trainings.
Added on to the Business owner's respond: Thanks for your response. NO message or email was received prioritize my appointment otherwise I would call to reschedule. ONlY received an email saying that I no showed for my appointment. I would love to discuss further if you need more...
Read moreI called and was able to get an appointment the same day, which is the only good thing. I booked requesting a 90min deep tissue massage. The massage therapist was almost 15min late in starting appointment, we had a brief discussion on what I was expecting- a full body massage with concentration on neck and shoulder and lower back- the aim relaxation. The massage was only 60 min, with multiple interruptions with phone calls/phone vibrating, and the massage therapist had a running dialogue almost the entire time. The massage therapist had trouble manipulating the sheet making the experience more awkward. My posterior was the only part worked on, it wasn't deep tissue it felt more like being rubbed with a bit of pressure. No real work on the knots I have. The focus was solely on my back with a little leg work, and after stepping out to check something, thinking the time was up, finally worked on my neck and shoulders. At that point I didn't even want to bring up the time. I was not relaxed at the end of the 'massage' and will not recommend ever going there. A thoroughly...
