I went here yesterday as I was in need of a few new business suites for my new job along with a few dress shirts and ties, the works.
My mother and I asked an employee for help, and it was at this point we started to understand why Maycs is having such a hard time in business these day.
The firs employee was nice enough however your mens formal wear are is horribly designed. While it's understandable that you organize by designer it would help if you also rack the clothed by size. We, including your employees, found it challanging to find my size in anything we liked. The options for business suites we all pretty bland not really unique or fashionable, with limited sizing we only found two that really stood out.
When we went to the dress shirt section it was even worse. Your employees in this section were not knowledgeable, they were not able to answer basic questions on sales (the week of Thanksgiving mind you) nor were they able to tell us much about the difference in the shirts. I.E are these wrinkle free, are they machine washable ext. They finally got tired of answering our questions and just abounded us.
After waiting and realizing that they were not coming back to help us. I told my mother we were better off going to Experss and that it was just around the corner.
To help you dear Maycs let me explain that experience
The suites were all nicely organized and displayed in one area. We were able to find a few suites that I liked, and started experimenting with sizes. We were approached by one employee that helped by taking a few of the suites that we liked and getting us a fitting room. They than helped us throughout the process, helping us find the perfect size and even upselling to a few other suites.
We ended up purchasing 3 suites with Express along with 4 dress shirts 3 ties and a belt. In addition to opening a line of credit with them. I hope this helps you learn and...
Read moreI'm sure there are people who like the random, haphazard arrangement of merchandise in this store, but as a guy who doesn't much like to shop, and when he must, wants to get in, get out, and get on with his day, it drives me nuts. I wanted a particular article of clothing, so I checked the Macy's website, being careful to select the MOA location. The website verified that they have that specific garment, so I took my lunch break to go grab it. How hard can it be, amirite?
I found what appears to be their main stash of this garment, but the brand I wanted was nowhere to be found. So I wandered around the department, where I identified no less than four additional satellite displays of the same type of garment, but still, none of the brand I wanted.
I finally broke down and downloaded then launched the Macy's app. It agreed that my article was in stock, so I tapped for in-store pickup. (I'd rather it just told me where the heck it is in the store, but that's asking a bit much, apparently.) It asked me where I wanted to pick it up. Duh, I'm standing in the middle of your store! Okay, fine, maybe I wanted to pick it up in Burnsville. So I tap on the choose a store link, and I get a page that lists 8 or so Macy's stores, under the heading, "you can't order for in store pickup from these stores," or summat like that. That's some helpful information right there! It's like going to a restaurant and they hand you a menu that says these are the dishes you cannot have today.
I gave up. I could have ordered online and had them ship the product to me, but I'm not spending $10 on shipping for a half-pound of merch that only costs $20 in the first place.
Macy's, you've got lots of great merch. I like buying clothing there. But sometimes you push me another step closer...
Read moreI actually don't want to rate this store so lowly because it's a great place to shop for so many things. But the reason I have is because of a bad experience I had there some days before this rating. I went in seeking whether or not overnight employment was an available opportunity. I came so respectfully, and this one lady, maybe age 50s or so, told me to just apply for a certain position on their computer. As I scanned for it, I didn't see anything clear about the position being overnight. Prior to scanning I clearly asked if they had anything OVERNIGHT available! So I asked again if the position she mentioned was overnight. She responded SOOOOOO rudely saying, "No. The position is not overnight. I believe I made myself clear before!" I looked at the others in the office, looked back at her and responded, "Alright then. Well thank you.", grabbed my things and marched right out of the door. Brought up in the MS Delta, I was raised to treat bitterness with kindness. A hospitality trait. I hope things change for that store for the benefit of the team and the customers as well as any other applicants, past, present, and future. I'm not perfect. But service to others is what I specialize in, and that was a DISGRACE to ANY idea of quality service. Yet alone respect to another image bearer of God. She should be checked....
