Was there today(7/25/22 6pm-7pm) and was very dissatisfied and very disappointed and probably will never give my business, at the fact that the only two male associates working at the time I was in the store didn't bother to ask me for help or greet themselves to me but proceeded to ask the other guest that followed behind me. I was in the store today looking for a suit for my birthday, big deal for a customer who has purchased in the past at other Express stores; I work at the Nordstrom in the mall and came to Express because my own job doesn't have what I was looking for and immediately thought "oh express will definitely have it!". I did look around because the store does have a wonderful selection and does appease to my taste. I tried to flag down the male associates twice and was greeted with a cold shoulder. By the time I found what I wanted I tried again and nothing. When I noticed both of them standing around doing nothing and just talking to one another, I tried again and nothing, even waved at them. That's when I proceeded to walk out because it has come to my attention that my presence and business was definitely not needed. It is quite sad as I read through the review section of this page that it's most likely the same two male associates I am talking about that have caused your business to leave a sour taste in guest mouths and being detrimental to your business. It is a shame that these two have hindered said business to gain a sale and possible future customer because they failed at customer services #1 rule; greet your guest with a smile, be willing to help and make them feel welcome within the doors of the establishment. In other words they said no to money and any business that is alive and well today are still thriving because they said yes instead of no to money. Allowing these two to roam your business whilst doing the things that myself and other customers have expressed (no pun intended) shows that you don't care to be apart of the money making business you want to be apart of. My mother and I were xmass shopping for myself as I am just starting a new job and need a few more business suites, ties, and shirts.
After a horrible experience at Maycs I knew Experess was going to be a better experience and I was not let down at all.
We entered your store and we were happy to see a well organized department. It was easy to find what we were looking for and we started to pick out a few suites that might work well for us.
We were approached by a nice staff member that was eager to help us set aside our choices in a fitting room. But it did not stop there.
I should pause here for a little tip, the music while good might need to be turned down. Your sales staff and my retired 68 year old mother had a difficult time hearing each other leading to a funny conversation and so confusion. We had asked your sales staff if the dress shirts did not require any ironing, and he mistakenly thought we had asked if the shirts contained iron in them. We worked it out and got the question answered. But it was still pretty funny, and probably a little embarrassing for your employee. No harm though.
Back in the fitting room your team really shined. The 50% off sale was a real bonus, your sales staff worked as a team, and were able to help us find the perfect sizes, offered a few tips and found us the right suites. They even were able to upsell us a line of credit for an additional discount.
We walked away with 3 suites, an extra pair of slacks, a couple shirts and ties and a new belt. I was even able to relate and talk about moving from Fargo to Minneapolis and enjoying the LGBT community here with one of your sales team members. They went out of their way to make us feel like friends they were just helping out, in no way did we ever feel like they were selling to us, they did not hover, it was a great experience. The clearance room section at back of this store is huge! About the size of an Express store itself. The Mall Of America location is by far the best location I've been to. This most beautiful, spacious and uber special Express store is the perfect place for the afternoon spent hunting bargains.
Ordinarily Express is too expensive for me. Though if you shop the sales and become a member you save a lot. If you get an Express credit card the savings double. There are many ways to earn points and $5, $10,$15. Posting reviews of the items you purchase, updating your profile, style quizzes, signing up for emails and texts.
I can always find a few items at bargain prices. Last time I stopped in I purchased a pair of very soft and very cool camo leggings made of rayon and spandex and a beautiful pleated tank top that is so versatile it can be worn very casual or dinner dream date. Whenever I shop in store I fall in love with an item every time. The items I come home with are so original.
Online the sales are incredible. I just paid $10 for $40 sunglasses and I don't have the credit card.
I can't say enough. The employees are more than helpful and cool. I feel at ease and at home as soon as I walk inside this store. Online or by phone, Express store customer service is consistently professional and top notch.
