0 stars easy. Easily the worst experience I might have ever had. Granted, I haven’t cheated on my previous barber in well over a decade but he’s in Maryland so I figured I’d look around for something in Boston.
I think the thing that confuses me the most was, why would somebody who doesn’t understand black hair be assigned a black client? I think the poor guy had never cut black hair in his entire life. I don’t know how the place works so I don’t want to come for the barber himself, but I’m confused as an establishment how you would let that happen.
Furthermore, you’d imagine that they would try to get the most out of each client. I wanted a beard trim and things but the barber literally discouraged me to have him do it. Does he not know how? The signs point to an INCREDIBLY unskilled and unpracticed barber. If he’s new, please have a veteran barber watch him and guide him. I don’t know his situation, maybe he was down on his luck and needed a job and got the hookup and learning on the go.
Or maybe this shop hires bad barbers?? Regardless, this is a managerial failure to me more than a bad haircut. The sheer (ha get it?) unawareness of this place is incredible.
Before I wrote this, I called their number to see if they would offer a refund since I am unsatisfied. No answer. Granted, I can take responsibility for the fact that I should have insisted I not pay for this 50 dollar haircut that took about 10 minutes and was EXTREMELY underwhelming, off center, and lacking all technique. So that’s my bad for not having the courage in the moment to stand up for myself.
Literally the first thing I did when I got home was cut my hair again myself to fix as many of his mistakes as I could. Fortunately I love hats 🥰
for the people that enjoy this place—I’m so happy for you and continue to support it. I won’t be going near it unless it’s to receive 50 dollars for...
Read moreMost unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. I called them this morning for an appointment and I was booked at 4 30 pm today. The woman who booked me for 4 30 pm clearly confirmed my appointment for today at 4 30 pm over phone. And now I go there after an hour’s commute only to see they don’t even have my name at 4 30 Pm. They are so casual about it saying they can’t do anything and not even 1% accommodative. They were trying to blame it on me saying the lady Called me back, left a message. NO, I don’t have any voicemail from these guys or any text message from these guys. First you confirm my appointment over phone, then when i come down after an hour’s commute, you try to blame me as if you did your job trying to reach me and it’s not your problem if you can’t. Why would you even make a mistake of committing to 4 30 pm if you didn’t have any? And even if you did, why would you try blaming me for not being able to reach when i come down there promptly at 4 30pm? It’s not even about not having my name down, I totally understand sometimes confusions happen, but the barbers’ attitude when I went in there was what pushed me to the edge to write this review. They were not even apologetic and were behaving as if is my mistake. How is it my mistake when you confirm the appointment first with me? After you confirm the appointment and you can’t reach the person (which I highly doubt they made a genuine attempt to reach me), stick to it because as per last communication you have confirmed the appointment. Anyway not stepping in there again! I would have appreciated if they had treated me nice...
Read moreFirst time customer, got my haircut Friday May 3rd in the middle of the day: lunch break haircuts are convenient and save me time on the weekend. I earmarked an 45 mins for this. The good: clean space with a nice vibe. Coffee water and tea offered upon entrance. The instruments were clean and it looked like the guys took pride in their work. The cons: if I’m going to pay $45 for a men’s cut I’m expecting nothing short of perfection. Half the time the barbers were talking amongst each other leaving me in the chair wondering how long my lunch break hair cut was going to run.Don’t get me wrong I didn’t want it to be rushed, but I still wanted to have the barber focus on my cut. I saw about half the customers get a wash out after (something I like when I’m going back to work after a cut) and I wasn’t offered one. I inquired if it was included in the price, and it was. At this point I was out of the chair and on my way out so it was too late. Would I go back? Maybe out of shear convenience but probably not. Like I said if I’m Paying 45+ for a cut I want to get the top notch top tier service the cost commands. I just don’t think seaport barbers On northern ave...
