DO NOT USE YOUR MACYS CARD HERE!
The other day I went to make a purchase at this Macy’s. The woman asked I would be using my Macy’s card and I said, “yes, if it is still open I will. Can you look it up?”
The woman then had me type my ssn and income in the keypad- this did not strike me as odd as I figured they were seeing if I was eligible for a targeted CLI since it had been so long since I used the card. Then the system started asking me more questions that seemed like a crowd card application so I stoped typing in the info and my husband asked, “are you just having her do a new application?”. The woman assured me no, and after typing in all the info told me my old card was closed and wanted to know if I wanted to apply for a new card. I told her no as my husband and I are trying to build credit to purchase a home.
A week later I get a letter in the mail telling me my application was declined due to not enough information. The information she had me fill out WAS an application and we were lied to.
Additionally, when I called customer service to address the issue they said they saw my old card (under my maiden name, which I had provided to the sales associate).
Fortunately I work in the credit card industry for a major financial institution, so I understand the impact that these sorts of deceptive cards practices have. I sent an email to complaints, and called their customer service. Customer service said they were removing the hit- but I will be ordering my credit report to ensure this was done. For someone who is trying to build their credit and doesn’t understand what was done/what their options are this is disgustingly predatory.
Do not trust this location of looking up your Macy’s card or give them your business if you are looking to open a new card as they clearly do not respect their customers credit decisions.
As for the store, if you are liking to pay cash or use another card I do feel as though it has the best selection of any Macy’s in the area, so they have that going for them. I for one though will not be back to any Macy’s after this experience, but that’s just my personal decision after...

Seeking to add some cute little 925. jewelries to my collection someone working in a surrounding store advised me that I should stop into Macy's and I did. To find so many fabulous collections at this time, I was wow'd. It happened to be just what I was looking for unique items and Martin Luther King day sale was going on during the same weekend I decided to pop in the store, so many danity, simple and pretty jewelry options. I got a few different kinds of earrings genuine sterling silver and even a couple vermeil, which I was very concerned about because this was my first vermeil purchase ever in my life, plus I am not used to vermeil all of my gold I own is solid pure gold, not vermeil. But I stepped out of the box and bought something new gave it a try and was so concerned about immediate turning of the earring but now that I've worn them a few or several times even with my hair down they still look as brand new! Now I'm so happy I did purchase them at the time I did too! So I have newer items from Macy's of sterling silver and vermeil I added to my jewelry collection and I couldn't be happier! I do not wet or shower with the vermeil as the instructions say. I think a day I wore them I was caught in the rain with light sprinkles and the vermeil 14k gold over .925 earrings still look great! Happy with my purchase!
NOTE: I purchased the jewelry this year about a half of a year (6 months ago) I believe in January of 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. Day sale vermeil is still holding up very well, looking good! 😊☺️ Hoping and praying they continue looking good for another 6 months upon months...
Read moreMy daughter received a perfume she didn’t like as a gift during the holidays. She attempted to exchange it in Tampa, for another fragrance. Unfortunately, they were unable to make the exchange and had to send her a merchandise credit by mail (you have to shop “in store” with it). The credit was sent to her Ohio home. She asked me to take care of it when it arrived and have the fragrance sent to her in Tampa.
Let me say this … the first person I encountered, I chose. I realize I left the “merchandise credit” in my car and had to run out and retrieve it. By the time I returned, the sales representative I picked, was busy helping someone else. I believe everything happens for a reason.
This beautiful angel walks up to us and offers to help us (as I write this review, I remember she was dressed in all white). Her name is Claudia, the sweetest person, I had met in a while. She listened and understood the assignment. I was ready to give up because of the many roadblocks we kept encountering. Claudia kept pushing through and said we are going to figure this one out.
The perfume my daughter wanted, was not in stock at Easton. What Claudia did for us, went above and beyond her job description. She did not, have to do, what she did. Employees like Claudia, are rare. She warms knows how to warm your heart and make you want to do all your business with that store.
Claudia made it happen for us, and shipped the fragrance to my daughter. She was so patient and kind. Claudia blessed my soul with her kind words, and encouraged my 18 year old daughter. I know 2025 has just begun, if I could give her an award, she would be sales associate of the year! Macy … Ms. Claudia is a rare gem. She is dedicated, passionate and loves...
