I wanted to leave an honest review about a situation I had with this store - I ended up being charged $700 for damaging ski equipment. Details below: I along with my girlfriend rented skis here this past week. It was really easy to get the skis and everyone working there was super helpful and friendly. The skis worked well and when we got back to return them it was a bit busy and there was a massive disorganized pile on the ground of rental equipment. We were told we could just toss our stuff in the pile and the workers would scan and check everything at the end of the day. We thought that was a little odd to have everything just on top of each other, but it wasn't a big deal. The next morning I got a call that there was "irreplaceable damage" to my rental skis and that I would be charged $700 and that the skis were mine now if I wanted. I went to the store and was told they already charged my card $700. The guy working was really nice and walked me through the damage and explained that even with regular damage insurance (which I didn't have to be transparent -- wish as well they maybe would have said something when I picked up my rentals as a courtesy) that it doesn't touch irreplaceable damage and that it wouldn't have changed the cost at all. The damage was to one of the skis in the middle and was a slight crack down the middle. To be honest, I didn't even notice it while skiing so I was surprised to hear. They mentioned it might have happened from a jump - any jumps I hit were normal small ones on the main runs, I definitely didn't go to the terrain park and hit any real jumps. Anyway, sharing as it definitely was disappointing to hear that I was on the hook for $700 for rental intermediate skis - not even demo skis - when realistically used skis probably cost $300-400 versus brand new ones that would be in that $700 price range. I also was surprised they charged my card immediately without at least letting me discuss with them before. I asked for a pair of poles as a courtesy after, which they kindly gave me and I appreciated. I do want to emphasize they were all super nice and friendly - hence the 2 star review. With that said, take my review as you will but I'm skeptical they take great care of the skis throughout the season given the messy pile of rental equipment on top of each other at the end of the rental day. I probably wouldn't rent again and risk being charged $700 for two days of renting basic equipment. Definitely a buzzkill to finish my trip.

Dropped off my snowboard to get it tuned and when I went to pick it up it was damaged. The guy at the store said they didn’t use any clamps or anything when waxing or sharpening and said it is probably from my snowboard boots rubbing against it. My rubber snowboard boot would not cause this damage to my snowboard. My friends board had marks on it as well in the same spots, but not nearly as bad. You can just see where there was something that was there. Once I commented on it they quite and defensive saying that it was my fault and it was not from them. Also they said that there is nothing they can do about it. I am also someone who is constantly looking at my board to see if there are any scratches or damages after I go out snowboarding. Side note the wax job they did wasn’t great either. There is wax all over the top of my board and covered on the sides. I will not be using them again.

We skied Breck on Jan 26 to 28. I had damage to the base of my skis. We went to Keystone on Jan 29. I dropped my skis off at Christy's sports to get my bases repaired. I rented a pair until my skis were repaired. We were back at Breckenridge on Thursday and I discovered Christy's did a horrible job on the edges. I took my skis into Breck Ski & Sport where I met Rebecca. We tried to de-tune the edges but we were unsuccessful. I returned to Breck Ski and Rebecca rented me a pair of Stockli Montero. After quitting early Thursday I returned on Friday and had a perfect day back on the mountain, restoring my confidence. I can't say enough about her professional help, we ended our trip on sking till last run. My skis are now being repaired at our local Ski shop. Thanks Rebecca! If you ever have a problem with you equipment check out Breck Ski & Sports!
